This company was purchased by a new owner and the staff made all these promises when they took over and we(the tenants) have yet to see any of these promises filled. I think this staff is not equipped to handle a property this big, I truly beleive they are out of their league! The office staff is unprofessional and very unreliable and the property manager is never at the office. She is also not good with following up on complaints. The units have roaches and the pest control company the property uses is no good. There is also mold in the apartments due to moisture and the office staff knows this. Take your rent money elsewhere or you will regret it.

I am the property manager that represents Cameron at Hickory Grove. I would first like to address that I am very disturbed that a current resident would make an anonymous complaint instead of contacting the leasing office. Our office staff is far from unprofessional... Our company strives upon resident retention! However, as everybody knows, some people are never satisfied no matter how much you attempt to cater to them... Our company has made many promises of community improvement actions that are scheduled to be completed over a 12 month period, not overnight!!! I appologive to this paticular resident in the event that we do not move quickly enough for them. Cameron at Hickory Grove offers monthly pest control to all residents... However, if you sub-spray or completly fill all your drawers and cabinets with boric acid, it will counter act with the PROFFESIONAL chemical that is being used, thus not being effective... Again, I appologize if our normal pest control efforts are not sufficent enough. I will be more than happy to accept any suggestions of other pest control remedies that any resident have. Also, I have very, very few pest control complaints on the entire porperty with the exception of a few select units which do not cooperate with the pest control company as directed in writing when the units are treated. I am very confused as why any of our residents feel that our leasing office staff are out of our league considering all the compliments which have been received since new ownership and management have taken over. Please, we (The Staff) encourage and promote the "Open Door Policy". Feel free to contact anyone at the leasing office at anytime. I also want to appologize to any residents that feel as if they are being neglected due the Manager not always being in this paticular leasing office. The property manager at Cameron is actually a multi-site manager which entails being at multiple properties though out the week. However, the assistant manager and leasing specialist are always able to assist any resident. Contrary to negative comments posted, the property manager is accustomed to managing properties with approx. 700 units as well as the assistant manager with properties ranging from 300 to 500 units. Please, have no FEAR!!! We are very capable of managing 202 units!!! Before anybody who reads this throws in the towel, come and check us out... We have the largest floor plans, BEST customer service & awesome rates & specials.... Feel free to drop in so we can take you on a community tour!!!

I am searching for an apartment in Charlotte and definitely not moving here after viewing the complaint and seeing how the apartment manager replied. Take the complaint and learn from it.

I am also a resident at Cameron..and I was looking at this web site with a friend to show off what I anticipated to be great comments. I am surprised to see such neg. things about them. The new manager has done more in 3 months than has been done for us in years.. and i qualify that as a long-term resident of 5years. When she 1st arrived I remember being invited to a community meeting pretty soon after they took over. At that time she went over a lot of things that they planned to improve. And excuse me but, I am sure that I have seen these changes underway. Furthermore, how would you like it if someone came on your job and bashed all the hard work that you've done. I'm sure that it is not easy to take care of however many people live here. But, what I do know is she and the other girl have always treated me very well.. so just maybe...IT'S YOU... and not them..In closing Ms. Manager... Keep on doing what your doing..the majority rules..and all my neighbors agree that you are really doing a good job...DO NOT LET ONE PERSON RAIN ON YOUR DAY!!!!!HANG IN THERE...THE MAJORITY OF US ARE BEHIND YOU...

This is in reference to the response that was written on the apartmentratings.com website by the property manager. I was told by an employee that it was assumed by the property manager that I wrote the original complaint posted on this website. Being that I have been accused of this letter I feel it is only right that I respond. If I had no problems writing the State Attorney General Office on you, then why would I have a problem stating who I am on a complaint? If a person chooses to remain anonymous that???s there choice and considering everything that I???ve had to go through with you, this person made the right choice. In response to you stating you received a lot of compliments you should, you gave away enough pizza and free rent raffle???s to fool people into thinking you were doing something good for them so they would move into the property. I want to address the boric acid and sub-sprays because you were talking directly to me when you wrote this letter so now I???m talking directly to you. Hell Yes, I had boric acid everywhere, I had roaches everywhere so what else was I supposed to do. I think you are a liar and I can call you this because you???ve lied to me on several occasions. I feel like I was discriminated against because I am a black female and I was too vocal with my complaints. If you really strive toward resident retention then why would you try to send me to a sister property when you knew the apartment was not comparable to the one I currently rent. If you were talking about me when you stated that you catered to someone that???s another ???lie??? you told, because you never catered to me and if anything you dismissed me and ignored me in every way possible. You do not offer monthly pest control to all resident, I think what you should have said is ???upon request.??? Then from a previous conversation you and I had, you stated your corporate attorney told you ???the property is not responsible for treating the interior of the apartments only the exterior.??? Of course, after reading my lease I found that to be another lie you told me. Instead of responding to complaints on the internet you need to be on the phone with the exterminator trying to get rid of these roaches on the property, in other words make better use of your time. It doesn???t matter what upgrades you make, when the renters have pest control problems that won???t make a difference. Before you make anymore accusations and innuendoes against me, I would suggest you talk to me first because my door is open as well, and unlike you I don???t run from issues, I face them head on. After reading the posted comments it is obvious I am not the only unhappy tenant or as you stated ???the only one complaining.???

i am also a resident here and very unhappy DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Watch out for Shannon she is not professional and is a very hateful manager. If I have a problem then they should face it and help in anyway possible. I pay for their service and I dont recieve their services. I totally agree with the tenant that they run from because they have done the same thing with me. And I tried the "Open door policy" and that does not work! And I will not be anonyomus person I am Jennifer Young Im sure the managers know who i am because they run and hide when i have a issue as well. But I will be out of here soon. Thank GOD!!! This is just a lesson learned and I still will be contacting the Charlotte Apartment Association and hopefully for the future residents they will find management that really and truley care about them. DONT NOT MOVE HERE!!!!
JENNIFER YOUNG and remember I have the open door policy so if mangement wants to correct the problems that I have brought up to them then I would be more than happy to talk in a professional manner.
Again I've learned and grown from these problems.

I agree with the last review and think Shannon is a "WITCH" for lack of a better word. You stink as the property manager and should be fired immediately. Why is this complex so dirty looking. It looks good until you enter the gates and then you enter Hell's Kitchen and then you have the audacity to raise the rent. I also saw the maintenance man and the person in the office stealing/loading a refrigerator in a blue mini van one Friday night. If they will steal from their employer the resident???s do not stand a chance. Beware?

I DROVE BY THIS PROPERTY THIS PAST WEEKEND AND PLANNED ON STOPPING BY THIS WEEKEND TO SHOW INTEREST. I HAVE TOTALLY CHANGED MY MIND. I CANT BELIEVE THAT THIS PLACE HAS THEESE TYPE OF COMPLAINTS. I HAVE CHILDREN AND FROM WHAT I HEAR YOU ALL HAVE DRUGS , ALCOHOL , DISRESPECTFUL CHILDREN RUNNING AROUND AND A MANAGEMENT TEAM THAT HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE TENANTS. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! I AM TOTALLY SHOCKED. I GUESS I AM HAPPY THAT THIS WEB LINK IS AVAILABLE BEFORE MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE. NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE ACTUALLY LOOK INTO A PLACE BEFORE MOVING IN. THE TENNANTS SHOULD FOR WORN WHEN POSSIBLE. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!
