What this situtation boils down to is true availibilty. Yes We do have and have leased several of the same unit types but we can not make someone lease a particular location. We quote vacant units and leave it up to the applicant to make a decision where in the community they would like to live. A lease contract is just that, a contract. It does not have a home buying stipulation. It is unfortunate that we have not been able to lease this particular apartment and we will continue to try to this lease so this resident may be refunded the difference in rent. My advise to everyone looking to buy a house while in a lease contract is to first talk with the management company and line up your buying dates with your contract dates. Apartment communties do have month to month options so you do not have to tie yourself into a renewal contract. As far as being the nastiest apartments I must disagree...Cheswyck has been recognized many times for landscaping up keep. We take much pride in our communtiy and will continue to do so. As far as being greedy and dishonest I must also disagree. It is our duty to enforce lease contract policies. In this case that is all we have done. We do not make exceptions with this policy as a contract is a contract. Cheswyck has done nothing outside the bounds of this lease agreement. We thank you for your comments, though we do not agree, they are appreciated none the less.

Obviously, you have never built a home before.....you cannot line up the the buying date with the final leasing month. That just does not work when you purchase a mortgage for a NEW HOUSE, when the closing building date cannot be determined (and yes, this is conducive for most NEW homes). As far as renting month to month......why would anyone in their right mind pay $400 dollars more a month just to rent an apartment month to month. If you do the math, you would come out saving more in the end if you sign another lease. Doesn't take a genious to figure that out. I don't know about the person that posted here, but with my person experience, the only thing that was positive out of my situation was dealing with your maintenace department. Michael is probably the nicest person working there. AND NO your complex is not the cleanest. If you take so much pride in your landscaping, then why is there trash EVERYWHERE. Obviously, if you read the other reviews posted here, you would see that MANY people agree that your community is dirty. So, instead of posting replies on here, if I was you I would be outside picking up the trash that lingers in your hallways, grounds, etc.

I just want to say that I have lived at Cheswyck since I moved to Charlotte in 2002. I have not seen a better kept apartment community. And my personal opinion is that anyone looking to use this website is doing so just because they are disgruntled (in this case because of their own failure to plan ahead) and are looking for reasons to complain. And YES, I have bought a house before.
