I agree with the gang activity. I watched a shoot out right in front of my building and called the police. The management didn't supervise a 100 party that they allowed at the clubhouse one night and that's how it ended. When I went into the office to ask about it the next day, the girl lied to me and said that it didn't happen. When I told her that I watched it, she had nothing to say. I hated living there. That's not the only safety concern that I had while living there, my car was broken into and my radio was stolen. Also, a guy got jumped when he was getting out of his car at night. Horrible!

It seemed like a very nice area to live in. I have never heard anything about those apartments in the news so that means that they do a good job hiding it. Thanks alot u were a BIG help!!!!!!!!

I am confused when people speak of all the "crime" and the "kidnapping" (from a post 8/18/08). I moved here in May and don't have any major complaints.
I haven't heard about any crime here - where are you getting this from' And who was kidnapped' I would have thought that would have been on the news and Missing posters would be all over here.
You don't hear a peep from outside after 10 pm, except maybe a few young people on a Friday or Saturday night getting into or out of their cars. I do recall seeing fire engines and police one night in June, but I don't know what that was.
The pool is well kept.
The gym is well kept - could use a new water fountain and maybe a TV for those using the weight machines, but all cardio machines are practically brand new and have TVs on them. I was paying $80 a month for my gym membership in NY and it didn't offer anything more than this gym here.
The grounds are well kept and maintained well.
There is a great county trail behind the complex for walking/running/biking, etc.
There are alarms in each apartment.
Cable is included in the rent.
Pets allowed.
Always good parking.
What I think could be improved:
The back gate - Yes, it is broken again. I am not sure what that is about.
The bathroom in the ClubHouse is not well maintained.
More community activities or gathering would probably foster a better sense of community.
With that said, I believe that this may have been a crappy place to live a little while back and although I don't know for certain, it's my belief that this place is shifting to a better quality of renters, slowly but surely, and some of the "old residents" are still lingering here. Even in the short period of time I have been here, I have seen a shift in the quality of residents. I would bet in a few months to a year, you'll start seeing a shift in the reviews too.
For the record, I am a single female and safety was on the top of my list when choosing a place to live. I feel safe in my second floor apartment (windows higher - I do this wherever I live). I have single females above and below me as well.
The alarm system is nice to have. While I don't think it is necessary, I think it was probably something that was fairly important before my perceived shift started to happen, and it's a nice extra feature now.
I would definitely recommend this community to any responsible, working people who want a nice, safe place to live close to University, but without the nonsense normally associated with the area East of 85.
