Beverly Crest is a very nice place to live and has great schools, convenient to shopping too! My apartment was in great condition at move in and so far nothing major to report regarding maintenance requests but the few I have requested were promptly taken care of. The office staff is very helpful and always pleasant and professional. I do not agree with these other negative comments because I have dealt with management and Evelyn is great :). She is always upbeat and ready to help anyone here. I have lived here for 2 years so I know what I am talking about and plan to renew with Evelyn for another year if she will have me and my family.

Hi, We are happy for you that your experience as a resident at CGBC and in dealing with the community/property manager Evelyn has been positive. It could be because you are lucky and became friends with her, could be that she renewed your lease without increasing the rent, could be the fear of her losing a job especially with low occupancy levels as a result of the weakened economy -- who knows! Either way, it appears that my wife and I along with a great number of tenants were not as fortunate to have a positive experience while living at CGBC evidence by the 2.0 ratings that were given by the existing, former or prospective tenants. Again, following is the review we posted in 2008. "My wife and I lived at Colonial Grand at Beverly Crest for a total of three years. We agree with all the negative reviews on this site about this property. We are glad we no longer live there though I admit we feel nostalgic whenever we pass by the apartment complex. We loved the pool and the upgraded outdoor patio. That's it, nothing else. Management sucked. During the last year we lived there, we did not see the reason why the apartment manager (Evelyn) came to the office considering that she isolated herself in the back corner office and was non-responsive to requests by residents needing to address issues with her. We used to always get the "She is working on financials and cannot speak to you." We wondered whether they did not realize that she was not a chief operating officer of a corporation. She was only an apartment manager or as they liked to refer to her as a "community manager" and nothing more. Recently, my wife and I ran into one of our old neighbors from Colonial Village at Beverly Crest. He told us that not long ago, representatives from Colonial Properties' corporate office paid the leasing office a visit and had the apartment manager (Evelyn) move to the front office. Damn, it took this long to do a shake up! Before we left, there where too many signs that the apartment complex was structurally falling apart. Check for yourself. Go to the back of the property adjacent to Providence Court Apartment complex. The majority of the metal materials are rusted, the wall insulation began to show, the floors squeak and the HVAC pipes in the bedroom walls sound like squirrels are in the walls whenever the AC or heating unit is on. Yes, young college grads seemed to have become the majority of tenants the last couple of years. They seemed to go out to bars every night after they start drinking and leave their empty Miller beer cans in the parking lot next to where their cars were parked. Some even leave cigar plastic wrappers and empty the tobacco in the parking lot so they can replace the content with weed. I don t recall being trashy when we were in our mid twenties. These tenants would return home after 3:00 a.m. drunk, loud, obnoxious and end up waking the neighbors on a weeknight. In the three years we lived at CGBC, things got worst in 2007 when it became a daily nuisance for a number of neighbors to sit on their balconies talking loud after 11:00 p.m. when the rest of the neighbors had to go to sleep to get up early the next morning and go to work. What made it worst were neighbors who would turn their cordless handset phones to speaker mode and talk loudly to others while on the balcony. We recall being able to clearly hear entire conversations while we were next to our washer and dryer closet in the kitchen even though all of our apartment windows and our sliding glass door were closed. Our lives turned to hell the last six months my wife and I lived at CGBC. It got to the point that we avoided coming home early in the evenings to avoid all the crap we had to put up with until our lease expired and we moved out earlier this year."
