I had roaches, too!

The Colony is in a great location, I like the floorplan of the 2 bed/2.5 bath townhouses, and the rent was cheap. However, I must admit this was a terrible place to live:
Both my roommate and I experienced a roach problem throughout the house. We are both very clean people yet those creatures kept coming back. We tracked them on a calendar 1 month and literally had a "visitor" every 3 days! Each month we had them spray again and as they added us to the request list, I would notice 5-10 other tenants who were already on the list. I also noticed that the office employees had the list readily available to add people, and it didnt seem to phase them when I would complain. I should also say that I dont know anyone else in Charlotte that lives in decent apartment and experiences any roach issues. It was disgusting!!! My roommate and I have to pay our lease through January, but we both moved out a month ago.
I recently met another woman that used to live there. She resided there 1 year prior and commented that she loved the location but mentioned the roaches before I said anything!
Also, the maintenance team responds immediately to emergencies. I had a socket that was sparking and they fixed it within 1/2 hour. However, non-emergencies take more time. The gutter pipe fell DIRECTLY in front of my front door (in February) and after notifying the office several times, it didn't move for 2 weeks. Finally, I got them to move it, but it was never replaced.
Lastly, I realize renovations were done in 2001, but I don't believe any of it was inside the units. The linoleum in my unit was yellow in some areas, the entire floor upstairs creaked, the tile in the upstairs bathroom was cracked and the squares didn't line up, and some of the cupboards in the kitchen and 2 bathrooms didn't shut all the way.
