Noisy Neighbors

I agree with some of the other posts. I have been living here approx. 3 and half months and the neighbors above me apparently have kids and are very noisy. Every afternoon after a long day at work I want to come home to peace and quiet but I hear what sounds like constant running back and forth, doors slamming, stuff being dropped, etc. I have banged on the ceiling and even screamed at them from within my apartment to hold it down. I have posted a message via the website about a month ago with no response, I sent another one this afternoon. I will also be filing a complaint tomorrow as this has gone on to long. Living in an apartment I can understand and deal with some noise. But this is ridiculous. The kids even spill drinks through their deck onto mine and the wall. I am in building 9315 and I have no intentions of renewing a lease at $940 a month that is sure to increase when the lease is up - when I can't get some peace and quiet. I moved here because I thought it was relatively reasonable and felt that Paula was very nice. But I expect my concerns to be addressed even if it's via an online message submitted through their website. I rarely have time to take care of personal business during the day and work out of town. I am not usually here before the office closes but will make an effort to get by or call when they are available. The neighbors upstairs above me are very inconsiderate to let their kids run around like they do constantly for at least 1-2 hrs after I get home, sometimes as late as 8pm.

Don't waste your time trying to get those neighbors quiet. I lived there for 2 years and made numerous complaints to management about the neighbors upstairs from me and they didn't do a thing about it, so I had to call the police to get them to shut up. Now that they know you're not renewing your lease, they won't care what complaints you have or what you have to say. Trust me, I know!!

Did you ever think about talking to your neighbor instead of banging on the ceiling ?

You must be talking about me. I have two young girls that visit me 2 nights a week for 2 hrs 6-8pm (that's why the noise stops at 8pm) and every other weekend for an overnight. I constantly remind my girls not to run or jump. I do my very best at keeping their noise to a minimum. FYI: Your "The kids even spill drinks through their deck onto mine and the wall" comment. A few weeks ago, the girls accidentally spilled soap bubbles while blowing bubbles on the deck, which is what you must have seen. I will continue to remind my children to be mindful of those living below us.

Talking to your neighbors do not always work. I, too, had a similar problem only the B***H wouldn't come to the door but you could hear her laughing. I left a polite note not once but three times before taking it to the office and they would talk to her and she would deny it. I had witnesses so they offered to move me. Heck no they should evict her - why should i suffer after living there 3 years w/no complaints before on me or that I made on the former tenant above me? Finally when my lease was up I gave notice and then they wanted to roll over for me. Too little too late and I moved. So therefore sometimes banging on the ceiling is all you have.

I appreciate the feedback from my neighbor upstairs. Someone posted a comment about considering actually talking to you, and I honestly still don't know who lives upstairs, and the times when the noise was bad was when I had already come home and was either already settled in (which means getting dressed and getting up) or was already asleep and I would get up. The noise has decreased and I appreciate it. Like I said in my earlier post, I can deal with it...I am generally very easy to get along with and actually expect to have some noise. Again thank you for posting the msg (even though I just noticed it) and I appreciate you helping to keep the noise down. I work a great deal both at the office and at home, and just like to be able to have peace and quiet like everyone else. As far as the complex itself.... I haven't had to many problems, and I do see some of the efforts of the management team. I will consider renewing my lease when its time, but only if I can get the same deal I have now.
