Close to the city with a feel of the country...

I have lived in four different apt complexes in the virginia through georgia area over the past several years. I would rate this one as the best of those four. The maintenance staff was prompt and courteous, the amenities were superb (especially the fitness center, which was absolutely phenomenal for an apt complex), and the location was fantastic. Also, unlike other places I have lived in the south, I experienced no major bug problems. So, I would say that the sonstruction was of high quality.

The only problems I would say I found over the year I was there were: 1.) The security gates did not offer much security. They are open during rush hours and cars can easily follow others through. However, I do not see this as much of a problem, as I found that this apt was safe and probably did not need these gates anyway. 2.) This complex is filled with many yuppie banker executive wannabes who, like college kids, often expect someone else to clean up after them. The complex had fantastic recreational room facilities such as a pool table that was a big draw for me. However, the residents did not take care of the facility... for instance, the pool table (a beautiful 9' engraved table) constantly reeked of beer. I guess the problems with the residents handling of public facilities got so bad that by the end of 2003, these facilities were closed unless you obtained a key from the leasing staff. This, though, I would say was a resident problem and not a management one. Similarly, other restrictions were placed on garbage disposal since residents were not being mindful of what they could throw in the trash compactors. 3.) Occasional noise issues. If you don't live on the top floor, this will likely always be an issue with any apt complex.

But, these 3 items were really rather minor issues. Overall, I could not recommend this complex more highly. If I ever were to move back to Charlotte, I would definitely live in this complex again.
