I'm renting from a corporate housing firm and paying $1750. It's horrible. I signed up without seeing the actual place first, and if I had been smart, I would have refused to move in when the truck arrived from Boston.
The apartment I'm in has never been updated. The dishwasher is so loud you have to run it when you leave. The microwave is sketchy. The carpet is worn and wrinkled. The faucets are faulty. Management has ordered a new dishwasher for us.
But by far the worst, unfixable problem is that smoke from other apartments in the building leaks through the vents and holes around the pipes in the wall. The place literally reeked of cigarette smoke - especially the master bedroom closet. Maintenance plugged the holes with expandable spray foam, which helped the closet situation. However, the smoke comes in through the dryer vent, which they cannot fix. So my dryer smells like smoke. An obvious problem unless you're a smoker.
Also, the complex has no recycling and only one central trash drop-off.

for 1750.00 a month, are you a dope? even the most exclusive areas of charlotte, aren't even that high (see Piedmont Row). who the heck helped you find an apt for 1750.00 a month that isn't anywhere near worth it? That's who your beef should be with.
Not saying the community doesn't have problems, but most of your problems are self induced.
