I must live on the quiet side of Heatherwood, because I have had no problems with noise! I do live on the 3rd floor, but have had no complaints from my downstairs neighbors about noise. Of course, I moved from a college dorm to living with 3 roommates to my own apartment at Heatherwood, so the noise level does seem low for me!
The only negatives are the lack of insulation creating high heat/ac bills (average of $70/month for my 700 square foot 1 bedroom) and the geese. The geese themeselves aren't bad, but the periods of drought in summer 2002 created quite a stench when their waste wasn't washed away.
Overall, the management of Heatherwood has been great and I have had little to no problems.
