I lived in Heatherwood for about 6-7 months and let me tell you, this place is crazy. At first when my wife and I visited it seemed quite and nice but dont let it fool you. When it gets dark the wildlife really comes out. During my time there I had my Accord stolen, returned to the apartment a few days later and then they returned to steal the speaker system that they did not get the first time. One month later I had the running boards off of my Jeep stolen. What the heck! While working on third shift my wife was afraid to stay alone because people would beat on the door(drunk I guess). I stayed up several nights during the week and just watched people fight and do all things suspicious. Ghetto is an understatement for this dump. If you stay here triple bolt the door and keep a 12 gauge by the bed. Ask them what they have increased security wise in the last 5 years. No gates, poor lighting, security that is rarely to be found. Ask them if they have ever asked Charlotte Meck Police to do a Community through Policing survey. They wont do it beacuse they will be held liable for everything they dont do that is recommended by the police. Go to charmeck.org and search crimes by the address at Heatherwood. Dont say I did'nt tell you so.

I walk home everynight from the bus at 11 at night and guess what? Nearly two years and nothing bad has happened. And I'm a tiny little white girl. So shut your trap and stop lying.

Wow, way to attack a valid argument against moving to these apartments. Stop lying about break ins and car thefts? Four of my neighbors have been robbed in the past month alone. How is it a lie that his car was stolen, and then later reported in a neighborhood news bulletin?
