Heatherwoods is in a decent part of town, located off of Providence road, and nestled between some of the more upscale neighborhoods on this side of charlotte. Explain to me why then, that there is gang graffiti being scrawled in the hallway in front of my apartment, vandalism to the recreation areas, a crime rate that raises exponentially every month, and overall complacency from the management. I confronted the management after a break in attempt on my apartment, and was met with an "Oh well" attitude. The lease contract that they make residents sign is a convoluted piece of legalese, that when deciphered, basically states the position that as a tenenant, you have signed away all rights to competent management, timely service, and general security. According to the lease agreement, the property manager's sole purpose is to give you the keys to you apartment, and collect your money. They also charged 200 plus dollars for a background check, and yet a convicted felon lives 4 doors down from me. I can't believe Heatherwood has gotten WORSE since we moved from that hell hole, in 2004. We could tell that they were letting a certain "element" start renting apartments there in late 2003/early 2004 and decided to move far away from those bugtraps. What amazes me is no one involved with Cornerstone properties that is a higher-up even CARES what's happening with the place, as long as they get their money.

I am stuck at these apartments now and I have lived there for two months and have never been so disgusted with an apartment complex. I have written a letter to the complex and to the corporate addressing my concerns and my demands to have my moving costs paid in full so I can leave this disgusting place.
