I have lived here for nearly six months, and still feel foolish for agreeing to bind myself to 12 months in this dump. The leasing staff are total scam artists. They presented this community as upscale and consistent with South Park, but this place is more like Northwest Charlotte or Downtown Detroit, MI.
If you are considering moving here, do not believe the way the staff presents this god awful place. The leasing office and the fake model apartment they show prospective renters are verging on fraud. The ambience and condition of the apartments here are horrible, dank, and outdated, and look nothing like the office area (Beware- This is the truth).
I have plumbing that is rotting behind the tile wall in the bathroom, and emitting a horrid odor. The buildings may have once been in good condition, but are now structurally unsound. The three maintenance men (yes there are only three) have good intentions, but are untimely, because they are inundated with work, and are not skilled enough to repair the many issues with outdated appliances and structural problems.
Other issues include:
-The office staff are rude and are indifferent to the problems here.
-Cars blaring music in the parking lot after midnight, even on Sundays.
-Damage to vehicles in the parking lot
-Broken mailboxes that have not been repaired for the past two months
-We have to drive to the post office to pick up our mail
-Take a Look at Mecklenburg County's Police website for crime tracking, and you will see that this address is rampant with crime, including armed robbery and assault and battery. Almost all major crimes have happened here.
Believe me; I am telling you the truth that this is an island ghetto in the middle of upscale Charlotte.

Amen brother! The Heatherhood is a lousy place to live if you value your life, peace of mind and possessions.
