I got to experience Heatherwood for over three years and just recently decided to move on. The people that live there are pretty nice but like everywhere you will have those people that are just rude and b$*@h about everything. The apartment was huge, great space and exactly what I needed, the price, not so bad. You definantly cant find a bigger and cheaper place without completely moving into the hood. The biggest problem wasnt the fact that the a/c went out for weeks or that my ceiling leaked everytime it rained, it was the company that took over. Not nessesarily the office staff because I know they are just doing what they are told, but the company...Colonial. When I first moved in we were some other company..... Corner something... anyways, you had an issue, they took care of it but now... we went an entire summer with use of one of the 2 pools because they couldnt afford to fix the fence and bathrooms. We went 3 months if not more with our mailboxes and had to go to the post office. Office said they were waiting on the permits from the main office. We FINALLY got painted after being told for 3 years that we were. THe pond has muitated fish in it from all the sewar back ups. The street has pot holes the size of my car. The water has been shut off several times because of old pipes breaking. I mean, how much do you have to put your residents through before you decide to fix things. The place is like 50 years old and they think they cant just rig it temporarily. I had some charges after I moved out and tried to speak to the manager about it but guess what, another new manager. Yeah there have been like 5. Can colonial just not keep them or is Heatherwood so sucky they run in fear'! There were a few people in the office that were really nice and made my day everytime I went in there but they are all gone. One of them (Tina) was murdered at another Colonial property but no one told us about funeral arrangments, just to work with the police. Tina and I were good friends, talked on almost a daily basis and no one can tell me when and where her funeral is'! If the other girls were there, they cared enough to tell their residents what was going on. I dont know what happened to Beth, Carry, and Erica but they were the best and if they were still there, who knows, I might have stayed another year.
