I just moved into Heatherwood in September 2007. What a mistake that was!!!! I pay $1025 in rent and I have not had any heat since October 24, 2007, the first day I moved in my son's bike was stolen, In this short amount of time I've had floods, over flowing toilets, and mold is growing in the top of my coat closet. I have opened a case with the BBB ( Better Business Bureau ) and I have contacted Action 9 news. Dawn is the property manager, they gave her a title but she is just the slumlord, who tells the emergengy maintenance line not to dispatch maintenance. I am going to report and comment about this apartment until I am let out of my lease and/or a serious improvements are made. I plan to get the tenants together in either protest, a petition, or a class action law-suit.

When I've had problems in the past with apt.complexes dragging their feet getting things done I contacted the housing city inspector. They are normally quick to respond to the type of problems you are having.Good luck!

Your situation is not unusual for the HeatherHood. Call Tom Lowder, Chairman of Colonial Properties, 2o5-25o-8700. Call the health department and the building code office, especially tell them about the mold which they know can be deadly. Please start a Tenant's Association because the vast majority of tenants are having problems like yours. Get on yahoo's financial message board for Colonial, there stock symbol is CLP and tell the investors what a slumlord Colonial is, you won't be the first. It sounds like they put you in a unit that they knew had all sorts of problems and they had to stop renting until you came along. Many of the townhouse units by the lake have been flooded in the past and never should have been rented due to mold, among other problems.

Been there, saw that. Apartment is considered reckless in maintenance. The worest is they will try to collect big money when/after you moved out.

I live at Heatherwood and I have had my apartment broke into twice in the last three months. The office is in no hurry to fix the window that was smashed in on 03-21-08. As of 03-27-08 Still not fixed and my heat is going out the window. The person that broke into the apartment lives two floors down and they office said they would not evict her until proven guilty even though the cops found must of my belonges from the frist break in in her apartment.
