Beware, from a new resident to potential new residents

Heatherwood is generally a quiet neighborhood, other than the robberies, car thefts, vandalism, murders, geese crapping all over the place, stagnant pond, outdated architecture, paper-thin walls, dark parking lots, drafts that eat up your electricity bill, 24-hour gym the size of a small bathroom, "accidentally" towing residents' cars out of the lots and then making you pay to get it back, the pools that are cleaned once a year, cracks in the walls and fire ants. Other than that it's ok. Oh, but I think you should also know - the second week we lived in heatherwood, in the "nicer part of the complex", someone shot out the windshields on my husband's brand new truck with a beebee gun, and also shot every car that was parked in the lot, causing a lot of damage. Don't leave your car parked in the lots for more than one day, because (as happened to my husband's truck) someone will steal your license plates. There is no complex security, and anything that happens to you while in the complex they smile and direct you to the local police department.

No surprise, The place has declined rapidly over the last couple of years. It used to be nice, other than the goose poop. The staff is rude when you try to come to them with a problem, maintenance is shoody to the point of violating housing and safety codes, and crime has shot through the roof. My car was stolen from there three times in less than a year. Then they wanted to raise the rent by 40 percent! That's why I got out.
