The management at Heatherwood Apartments has the worst turn over and is ridiculous in how they handle their tenants. I have actually been here for years and customer service has rapidly declined in the last 8 months to a year. Management does not fix damage to the apartments which are 40 years old- and there is mold, water, and structural damage that never gets fixed or even looked at no matter how many times you report the problem. I have reported the same issues for YEARS and they have never been fixed. Maintenence is weak at best and dishonest if you want to get right down to it. The staff that works in the office knows nothing and although friendly, you have to repeat requests 3,4, qnd 5 times to even get a response.
The area is unsafe. We have had in the last 2 years a stabbing and a shooting in the same area of buildings as my apartment as well as gang graffitti on the concrete walls around the building. The pool is a joke as well- 3/4 of the time it is closed due to structural damage due to the pool itself or due to people destroying the fence, bathrooms and throwing the pool furnitue into the pool itself. Recently, they even got rid of the dumpsters (probably to save money) and we now have 1 dumpster/trash compactor for all of the apartments in the entire community. It smalls vile, is an absolute eyesore, and represents perfectly what Heatherwood is all about. The plkayground is pathetic with broken equipment and no relevant equipment children want to play on.
I urge ANYONE interested in moving to Heatherwood to stop by the current tenants homes and knock on the door BEFORE you pay an application fee or sign a lease, and I guarantee you will hear the way it really is- THIS PLACE IS THE WORST PLACE YOU COULD MOVE INTO!!!

This is nothing new. Colonial Property owns Heatherwood AND THEY DO NOT DO CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON TENANTS. You neighbor could be a rapist or murderer or burglar, etc. and Heatherwood does not care because those lying morons in the office don't live there. A leasing agent from Heatherwood was murdered by a tenant not too long ago. If your life, property or piece of mind are worth anything DO NOT MOVE TO HEATHERWOOD.

First of all, the leasing agent was murdered by her ex and it was at her apt off of monroe rd!
