DISCRIMINATED AGAINST!

I am a professional black female that just moved to Charlotte for my job at IBM.
Less than a month ago, was looking for an apartment in the university area, and I went to several communities to check out prices and floorplans. I went to the Highlands first, and it was about 9.30am. When I walked in, the office area was empty. About 5 minutes later a female with short blonde hair came out. I told her that I was looking for a one bedroom apartment for March 1st. She said, "sorry, we won't have any one bedrooms available until the end of April. So then I asked about two bedrooms. She replied, "we won't have any of those either until April." I then told her that my move in date was flexible. I said, "can I still take a look at an apartment'" She said, "we don't have any to show right now." I said, "I don't mind looking at a one OR two bedroom apartment." She said that they didn't have any models to show of anything. (I thought all apartments had a model). I then asked her when they would have an apartment that I could view. She said, "call us in about a month and we might have one then."
Since I wasn't offered any brochures or floorplans, I asked her if she would please give me an application and a brochure. She did. She must have been suprised that I STILL wanted an application after that. Then she says, "what price range are you looking for'" I said around $700.00 a month for a one bedroom. She really had the nerve to say, "we'll actually have a one bedroom available at the end of February. It's $734.00 and includes cable and a garage." Now, I can understand if she would have said "let me double check the books"---and then told me about the apartment in February. But it didn't happen like that. Right after telling me that they were booked solid through April, she asked what I could afford, and then immediatley told me about the apartment for February.
I would have been a little better if she would have at least smiled once or had a better attitude.
I went to another complex after that, and they sat me down, asked for my name, contact info, etc., and then showed me an apartment. This girl at the Highlands never asked me ONE SINGLE question, didn't give me any of their info without me asking for it, and refused to tour me. She made a statement about them being almost 100% occupied. Does that mean the service has to suck'

Needless to say, I did not sign a lease with The Highlands.

SAD.
