Highlands at Alexander Pointe

I will be perfectly honest in my review okay. When I first came to Highlands, I loved it!! Th elocation is spectacular for me. It is close by great restaurants, shopping and highway 85. Close to concord mills mall and not too far from downtown, maybe 15 mins depending on traffic. The staff was great, especially rebecca. The grounds were well kept, no maintenance issues and any problems I had was handled immediately. Not to mention that the homes are very beautiful! Granite, berber carpet, vaulted ceilings, garage, bay windows, roman soaking tubs and large walk in closet. Everything you would want in a home. The only problem would be that the front gates tend to malfunction every once in a while. Now, I don't know who's bright idea it was, but they changed management to some messy bad hair day lady who is rude, ditsy and looks like she smokes a pack a day. When she came on board, all of the good people left and she fired the maintenance guys and hired her husband fat albert and the crew. He is so sloppy he has to drive around the small complex in a golf cart because he is too lazy to stretch those legs of his. I had a few encounters with ditsy and fat albert. She had to end up giving me half off of my rent for one month needless to say. The car wash center stays broke now, the business center is always closed, and fat albert and the crew can't maintain the grounds like the previous guys. Example; the water had been cut off for maybe a day and a half. No problem, but ditsy failed to send notices out to inform the residents (as the previous managemnt would have done) sounds like a minor thing right' Well not, imagine waking up, going to the bathroom (REALLY going catch my drift) and there is no water!!!! No water to flush, shower or wash your hands!!! (Nasty I know but I said I would tell the truth) Not everyone has transportation and it would have been useful to know this so that we could purchase water and be prepared for sanitary reasons. Now, when I called the corporate office and complained they told her she needs to supply the residents with water. Okay great right'! Well ditsy went to the upscale grocery store and bought two bottles of Avian ( the regular sized) for each resident and put it on the door step. Now, she passed right by the dollar store where she could have gotten a jug of water for $1 each and placed that on the door steps, saving money and also being useful. This place is great if you don't mind having to cuss out a staff member or defend yourself from being cussed out by 1. The homes are absolutely beautiful though. Management sucks!!! Oh and as far as the cable being included, it is not free it is included in your bill so if you didn't want the plan they give, your rent would be $50 cheaper

From The Highlands Management, we'd like to thank the above person for her great comments and would like to add that after the above negative events both the manager and maintenance person were replaced in December of 07 and we can assure anyone coming in that we respond very promptly to maintenance requests and value our residents. Due to the severe drought the car wash area was closed most of last year and part of 2009 until the City lifted the restrictions. We hope that anyone interested in the community will make their decision on what they see and hear on their own.
