First apartment

I moved in here about 6 months ago. A few pros and cons:
Pros:
Location. Close to Food Lion and many other shopping areas. The traffic light at the entrance is very handy during the rush hour madness.
Management. With the exception of one charge that was previously paid and somehow got lost in the records, I have not had a problem with them. They are friendly and actually remember who you are. Maintenance has responded promptly to problems.
Peaceful. Yes, there is some noise here and there, but I haven't heard of any break-ins or other issues like that. Most of the people here just mind their own business.
My particular apartment was about 10 to 15 degrees cooler then the outside (which was a major plus during this summer's heat wave).

Cons:
Laundry center. Bring your own washer and dryer if you want to avoid major headaches.
Cheap construction. The cupboards are made of particle board and water has damaged many of them. The fly by night crew that was hired to do the painting did a poor job. This complex just wasn't built with quality in mind.
Humidity. It's very hard to get air moving through the apartment, and a s a result its often damp in here. Mildew was the first thing I noticed when I moved in. Mold could be a problem. Air it out and you should be fine.
Lighting. Some of the areas aren't lit very well, which may be a point of concern to some. There are only four places (kitchen, dining area, closets and bathrooms) that have overheard lighting. You must put in lamps to light the rest of the rooms.

All and all, this is a nice place to live. It's not flashy or glossy, but it is more then adequate. I would recommend it to someone else to live in.
