The office staff is incompetent and unprofessional. I have lived here for almost a full 15 month lease and there seems to be a revolving door of staff in the front office. The property manager has stayed the same. I don't know how she has kept her job with her UTTER LACK of customer service skills. She is a nightmare. A NIGHTMARE. why would anyone ever hire her for a position that requires people skills when she is completely devoid of any. The apartment complex itself has absolutely zero landscaping. while i realize there is a drought in NC, every other complex in the area still maintains their grounds in an aesthetically pleasing manner. here it is depressing. an eye sore. all you see is dead grass. no trees, no plants, no effort whatsoever. there has been a pile of bricks sitting near the back entrance for my entire lease term (15 months now). these people could care less about the appearance of the neighborhood. Sure it sounds great that Mallard Glen has two pools - however, the pool in the back is disgusting. it is a breeding ground for wild underage drinking and partying and god only knows what else. the back pool area is always full of trash and rarely cleaned. the pool water smells FOUL, extremely foul. the front pool tends to be more well kept and doesn't have the underage drinking and partying due to it's location by the front office. The walls in the apartments are PAPER THIN. i hear everyone outside, in the breezeways, coming and going down the stairs. i hear when my neighbors (both above and below) close their doors, watch television, talk loudly, etc., Furthermore, i have been unfortunate enough to have neighbors that have many domestic violence-style fights. i hear it all. it happens all to frequently. i have reported this to management several times...but it continued to happen and eventually just stopped issuing complaints as it did no good. my neighbors below me got in a fist fight outside of their apartment in broad daylight. people in my building set off fireworks regularly. basically - they have every type of riff-raff you would want to try and avoid living all around you. as other people have commented - there is ZERO water pressure in the showers. there are no garbage disposals in any of the apartments which is absolutely shocking. i cannot believe how low they stoop to save a little money during construction. my front door and patio door are not installed properly and there are huge cracks between the bottom of the door and the door frames which translates to a higher heating and air bill for me and also the occasional insect that finds it's way in. yes, the rent was reasonable at the time of move-in but you truly do get what you pay for. i cannot get out of here fast enough. save yourself. don't move here.
