My unit was nice and the property was taken care of. But i got in on a deal which was still over priced. And when it came time to renew. They wanted $100 more a month. That was crazy, you can buy for less than that. I have lived in other places in Charlotte and my rent never went up that much. It was excessive for the area.

Yes, this is indeed true. I resigned my lease and my rent also went up $100/mo (if I had waited to renew it would have been even more...That was a discount for renewing early). I like living here, so I paid up. If it goes up $100 every year, I will have to move out because it will cease to be worth it. Everything else is great, however.

I agree. The rent is bordering on gouging. The raise in my rent this time was just low enough though that getting a similar apartment in a safe, nearby area was just as much (if not more if you factor in the time to move). I'm probably going to stick it out one more year, but if it goes up any more after that, I'll have no choice but to leave.
The real shame of it is that the complex is fantastic. There may be a couple of times where the neighbors were loud, but it was out of ignorance of how well their sound traveled. They kept it respectful after that. The landscaping is kept up, and the management's quite helpful. The price is the only real hang-up with this place.
