Matthews Crossing formerly Dominion Crown Point

I first did my research of all the apartments in Matthews & also visited this site & read all the reviews. We checked out the place & asked the people who lived here what their opinions were. We got some good & bad ones. I have lived here for over a year now. I live in the new phase, the building close to the park entrance. Just like every other places in Charlotte there's going to be crimes. I haven't seen anything but have heard of one robbery & a woman who got mugged. Not only that but our SUV's back window got broke because some kids were playing in the parking lot & threw a rock... although they claimed it was a stick. Luckily, a teenage girl came to our apartment & informed us about the situation otherwise we would have never known. The parents of the kids gave us money upfront to replace the window. The people here are nice & its a nice place to live although sometimes the neighbors can be pain in the asses... complaining about every little thing they can find. I have a 3 year old son weighing about 30 lbs. They would complained that he makes too much noise which I think its ridiculous! He may run around the apartment every once in awhile, do a hop or something but mostly spend time playing in his room. That's a part of living in a apartment... there's going to be some noises from time to time. How are they going to complain about my son being loud when they blast their music so freakin loud all day long''' Along with that, the neighbor's kids are loud runnning up & down the stairs. One thing I like is that its in a convenient location & the staff are nice. The pool sucks... most of the time it was closed & pool maintenance is really bad! They also need more parking spaces! I would suggest you do your research, check out the place & ask the people who lives there. Despite of the things that has happened I would recommend this place.

hey I just read your interview and I have been living here for 4 years. maybe you haven't had any major issues in phase 2 But I have lived in phase one for all this time. they said that they were going to renovate my apt , they never did. I knew the old managers and despite and thing that ever happened, this one is never around.(the new one) yeah there is violence, you just don't hear about irt. My brothers a cop. He says this place is one of the worst for drug trafficking. try living in phase one without night patrol WHICH was cancelled by Waterton becasue of all the probelems they had with leaks in the past. If you complain to the office about your neighbors kids Good Luck I can assure you nothing will happen. I cxcomplained to the manger she said "it's part of apt life," WQRONG .You don't have to put up with it. It's called respect!!! Good Luck. This was an awesome place the past 3 years this year it has gone down. There was no summer-no pools were open, there are cracks in them that Waterton doesn't tell the residents about. I know . My friend was a leasing agent there 2 years ago.. lease is up soon -save your money and sbuy a house!!

You're right. We're looking into buying a house. As for the neighbors... they have came to our apartment a few times complaining about noises... one thing they shouldn't do because any problems should be directed to the Housing Managers. We told the Manager about the problem & they contacted the neighbor. The next thing you know... the neighbor called the cops on us about noise complaint. We have always been respectful of our neighbors... minding our own business. But for someone to take it to the extreme... they are pushing it!
The reason why we chose this place was because it was a more decent place to live than any other apartments we have researched & looked at. We were moving from Waxhaw (moved from TN & lived in Waxhaw for a year) & didn't know the area that well.
Thanks for your opinions & good luck!
