Facts:

The appliances are vintage 80's and early 90's. My fridge is very literally 20 years old (Made in 02-89). The stove is the same. The electrical sockets in the apartment are quite old and out of spec, not making good contact or accepting most modern wall-warts without dropping them. My bathroom GFI outlet was non functional on move in. The dishwasher is also quite old, and performs quite poorly as a result. It is not broken, its just incapable like most 80s washers. The paint is over sprayed on several surfaces, and incomplete in others. Phone outlets, cable outlets, some lights, and some wall sockets. Several wall patches are visible at more than 10 feet away, and in any light. Several appear to have been made with improper materials. Baseboard molding is cracked and pulling away in places. It is also dented, dinged, and simply painted over rather than properly repaired. For 2 decade old apartment buildings, they are not in terrible shape, but they are in dire need of remodeling, or at least a partial facelift. One window appears to be single pane.

The Praise:

Service requests so far have been answered in a reasonable time. Emergency response for a dangerous/shorted fridge issue was very good (3am on a Sunday, called me back at 4am.) The grounds are reasonably clean. The office staff is mostly acceptable.

The Bad:

Their online payment system is a bit of a shambles and very unpolished. It lacks any sort of mechanism to prove a payment has been made. Water has been shutoff at prime time in the morning (letter said 8:30, water went off before 8:00) until late in the day, TWICE in 2 months. With less than 24 hours notice both times. Parking policy was randomly changed, and delivered to everyone with a letter that was predated by 3 days, going into effect in 5 days, with a different date on the parking form. The insulation in the apartment is bad, i can hear people on the sidewalk, outside, across the street chatting as clear as if i had an open window.
