Yo!

Just OK: now called Mission University Place

I have lived here for almost four years and the complex is just ok. Unfortunately, my car was one of the ones that was broken into that the previous reviewer referred to. Fortunately, it's not a real common occurance--about the same as in other ungated complexes.

That aside, this complex is almost like two different ones, depending where you live. Where alot of the one bedroom units are is quite with many working professionals. Parking can be an issue in that area though (at the bottom of the hill) thus late night parking near the your building is hard to find.

Near the front of the complex where the larger apartments tend to be, is louder with a fair number of people thumping their radios at all hours. There also tends to be alot more diversity of the renters in this area.

The buildings themselves are getting old. We've had our share of problems: termites in one bedroom, sink blockages, and sewer overflowing into our tubs. For these extreme emergencies, maintainence is quick to respond. For lesser problems they are pretty slow and it takes forever to get things patched up totally (if ever).

Other negatives: The gym is small; the neighbors with dogs are not always courteous with where they let them use the bathroom despite ample signs telling them where not to go; hoses are often gone from the carwash area; you can't hear talking or anything from the upstairs neighbors or the ones you share walls with but can hear your upstairs neighbors walking and vaccuuming.

Positive notes: the complex was recently purchased by another company and renovations are SUPPOSEDLY on the way! (The complex is now named Mission University Place). The location of is great--walking distance to bars, Wal-mart, Best Buy, and UNC-Charlotte, grocery store close by. Concord Mills mall, one of the largest in the area, is 10 minutes away. The office staff (at least the assistant property manager) has been here for a long while and is very nice.
