I lived here for 2 years and loved it. The only reason I moved is due to relocation to the North East. The property is structurally sound and very beautiful inside and out. Top-notch appliances and amentities (pool, grills, fitness center, etc.). Also, the staff was very friendly and maintenance was efficient and quick.
As far as pets are concerned: those who have pets should be respectful and pick up after them, as it is the law. I had a dog, and I always picked up after him. But, for those people that do not like pets being on the property, you have to know that pets are allowed before you choose to move in. People who aren't thrilled with the idea that people might not pick up after their pets should not move into a property that allows pets. The people who do have pets do pay extra to have them in terms of rent and security deposit. Unfortunately, we cannot always control what other people do with themselves or with their pets, and it is just as easy to complain about the person who drops their hamburger wrapper on the ground as it is to complain about the person who doesn't pick up after his/her pet. There is no excuse NOT to pick it up, but anywhere you go, there will be people who break the rules.
Yes, it was difficult to get in and out of the property during concerts or races. Again, though, you have to know that you are living across the street essesntially from the pavilion (thus, the name of the apartments), and race traffic is bad no matter where you live in this general vicinity. You can always go the back route and come out in the Concord Mills parking lot.
Our complaints were always acted upon quickly, and any maintenance issues were adjusted promptly. I loved living here. Believe me, if you ever move to NYC, you will appreciate the size, price, service, and amenities you get at Pavilion Crossings!
