I am currently relocating to NC and the Piedmont seemed to be the ideal spot for me to move into. During the first steps in the process they were helpful, but once they had my security deposit they completely screwed me over. They told me I was approved and set a move in date for me. I rented the truck and was set to go, when less than 24 hours before I was going to move in they called me to tell me that I was not approved after all and could not move in on the date we agreed on!! To make matters worse they told me they would not refund my deposit! The staff is completely incompetent and will call to tell you one thing then call back the following day to tell you something completely different! It has been a ridiculous fiasco, and a highly stressful process. After days of arguing I finally was able to recover my security deposit, but I would never recommend this complex to anyone. Don't let the pictures fool you, this would be an awful place to live.

Lived here?

I totally agree. I live here now. While the apartments themselves are pretty nice on the inside, the staff in the office is not very good. I went through a ton of headaches moving in because they kept changing the requirements for what we had to do. I have friends who live here who went through the same difficult process. The rent is also pretty high. They try to play the "luxury apartment" card, but to be honest the only thing they have over similar apartments in the University area is nice landscaping. Once you get through the headache of moving in, things are better, but I still would say you can find better elsewhere for the money.
