The truth

Location - This is a great location for people just moving to CLT. It's 15-20 minute ride to uptown and is pretty central to other parts of CLT. Phillips Place is a short walk away which lends an urban feel. There's Dean & Deluca, upscale shopping, a pretty decent movie theater, The Palm and a few other stores. Location is one of the best things about Post Park.
Price - PRice is relative to where you come from. If you moved here from NYC, then you're getting a bargain. If you moved from Greenville or another low cost market, you'll feel it's outrageous. I felt the price was average.
Facilities - The complex offers ample parking and well lit grounds. The landscaping is impressive and they have a pool, fitness center (somewhat dated and not that great), tennis courts, car wash, and a nice trail to walk your dog. Speaking of dogs, there are calling cards everywhere even though they have curb areas and bags. No one here cleans up and it could become a nuissance. The apartment itself is again relative. The carpet was in fair condition, the walls are newly painted and every utility was in working order. The soundproofing is one of the biggest detractors. You can easily hear, loud and clear, your neighbors above you and in some cases, below you. That can make for a very unenjoyable experience. It was probably the number 1 thing i hated the most.
Staff - The staff can be moody depending on the nature of your request. Generally, they are nice and accomodating. The maintenance staff are tops. They are trustworthy and always available to help you whether it's with your clogged toilet or carrying your groceries up the stairs. They are one of Posts shining stars.
Neighbors - you would think that the rent would filter out some of the riff raff, but it doesnt. There are a lot of young, single guys that live here. I've almost been run over by a few who speed through the parking lot. In fact, i've almost been in a fight because they were juiced up on booze and had total disregard for everything. Overall, it's a sedate. There are several divrocees, some first year athletes, a few strippers, and for the most part, young professionals and couples. It's a temporary stop for many newcomers.
OVERALL - If i had to live anywhere in CLT, it would probably be here. Uptown apartment buildings have neighbors to the right, left, up and below and across. Too crowded...at least here, you have some breathing room. It's also convenient to grocery stores, pharmacies, and plenty of shopping. I enjoyed my stay there but I am glad to have left. Be sure to negotiate the rent and the conditions of the lease. Everything is negotiable as they are never above 90% occupancy.
