FANTASTIC LOCATION, NO CAR REQUIRED

We recently rented a furnished apartment for my parents who wanted to spend the winter in Charlotte near their grandchildren and who do not drive. The location of Post Park at Phillips Place is wonderful, with the Phillips Place shopping center offering everything they need within walking distance, including a gourmet grocery with deli, a wine store, a hair salon, a 10-plex movie theatre, a dry cleaners, and various upscale restaurants. The apartment complex offers a beautifully landscaped swimming pool, tennis courts, fitness room, and office equipment. The grounds are beautiful with established landscaping and European Villa styled architecture, including fountains and terraces. There are many little conveniences, such as key card entry into the complex and buildings, oversized mail lockers for 24-hour package receipt, and underground parking. The apartment itself is basic, but sufficient: the apartment is carpeted, the dishwasher is noisy, and the furniture isn t particularly stylish. However, the ceilings are high which lends a certain grace to the space, there are French doors facing the courtyard, and the open kitchen is terrific. I'm sure it could be decorated more attractively if it was their permanent residence. I suspect that if the interior of the units were better appointed, with hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops, the units would fall into a different price category, so we are thankful to find a moderately priced luxury property in such a terrific location. Post s customer service has been excellent, especially the Managing Agent. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and they have bent over backwards to assist my parents with anything they have needed. Although most of the tenants seem to be working professionals, my parents feel right at home there. The Post staff was quick to install a wireless router, a handicap bar in the shower, and to provide a writing desk (as part of their furnishings). This has made them very comfortable in the apartment and we are all very pleased with the facility and the professionalism of this Post apartment complex.
