I'm considering moving here as my first apartment. The area is wonderful, it's the most affordable apartment complex in the ballantyne area, it looks nice now after they painted and all, and I don't see any reviews about car break-ins, slashed tires, crime, excessive noise, etc. So who CARES if management blows. They're only human, they can't be perfect or even close. Deal with them. I want to move here because all the other apartment complexes have all the crime!! Sure, their management may be nice but that won't stop someone from breaking into my house or slashing my tires now will it' So let's look at things that way, shall we' I'll get back to you after I move in for a up-to-date opinion.

Yes, please do keep us updated! DH and I are looking to move to Charlotte from Boston sometime within the next 9-12 months and the Ballantyne area is of great interest to us. Thank you for your review.

I completely agree on the thought process. My wife and I are petrified of some of the reviews that we have seen on crime in other apts so the mgmt is the least of our concerns..can u let us know on the safety aspect after your move in and also what is the travel time taken to uptown (trade Street) with the traffic. Thanks in advance...you can mail me at raagatorock@gmail.com

"Most affordable apartment complex of the area"... well, at the beginning yes. And given the standing of the residence, it is roughly the right price. But beware of the increase afterwards!! Just after I renewed my lease for my 1 bedroom (with a huge increase) I discovered that I pay now more than what they ask for a (first) lease for a 2 bedroom - As a matter of fact, I end up paying the rent typical of the nicer residences of the Ballantyne area - The Preserve management quite know the hassle and money moving out would cost - So if you don't wanna feel hostage of the "most affordable" (at the beginning) of the area, don't get at the Preserve!!! Go directly to the nicer ones. it actually won't be more expensive. And it will be worth the money.

Just so everyone knows, there is NO community in the Ballantyne area without crime, it can happen anwhere, just look at the crime mapping site at www.cmpd.org- it has shown car break ins, home break ins etc, look even in the millon dollar neighborhoods in Ballantyne, things happen there too- Just be smart, dont leave valuables in your car, lock your doors, know your neighbors, etc. And for all of those who say they dont care... the management here is great and believe me, even though you may not see them every day or even every month if you need them, you will be glad you choose a community (management company) that will help you and be there when you need them.
