Lived in a main floor unit for a short time thank goodness. Three small children above use, pounded nails on balcony ran around and jumped above us from 0700 until 8pm. Felt like the ceiling was going to come down. Floors even squeeked at night when only the parents were walking. Why would they have the larger apartments on the second floor. Obviuosly very poor insulation. Office staff eventually worked with us and although the noise continued we were allowed out a little early.

I can say that the walls are great on not allowing noise to travel to and from neighbors..but the floors?? Well lets say I know when the girl upstairs goes to the bathroom, when she opens the drawers in the kitchen or when she is wearing heels out for the evening. Granted she could just be REALLY loud but damn it gets old. And the window might as well be paper. And can you believe I am 90% happy living here

I completely agree. If noise bothers you at all - DO NOT move here! It will be constant frustration! I often here the people next door in their office or in the bathroom, and the people upstairs walking around. I know our floors squeek when we walk on them, so I am sure the people below me can hear me, too. Also, when I'm out walking in the neighborhood I can hear music from apartments if they are playing their stereo. No fault of the neighbors, just shoddy construction.
