Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I lived here for slightly over a year. On the positive side, management is courteous, maintenance is efficient, grounds are well kept and it is fairly quiet.
Now time for the negative---rent is reasonable, but keep in mind residents are responsible for paying their own gas, water and electricity. So you can add about $100.00 to what they tell you the rent is. Also, there is very little storage space. Appliances and carpeting in my apartment and several others I have seen are old and have not been replaced in a many years. There is definitely a cockroach problem. Many of them are huge and look like Palmetto bugs and some of them fly! And yes, the management staff while friendly seem to be mainly interested in making money. They could care less about the resident.
As far as security goes, I personally feel safe, but I probably should not. Recently, several residents have had their cars stolen or broken into. I have seen what I suspected were drug dealers on the property recently conducting drug transactions. There are many geese, ducks and other wildlife living here. They are beautiful, but there is a lot of goose poop everywhere. There's a big creek that they refer to as a lake on the property which is stocked with fish for residents that want to fish. But, in my opinion you might want to think twice before eating anything out of that murky looking water.
