Decent place to live, staff very unhelpful

Lived in Tyvola Springs for 13 months. Moved to Charlotte from out of state and after looking at a lot of apartment complexes during weekend trips - we choose Tyvola for how new the apartments were compared to others in South Charlotte. We left when we bought a house. Currently in the market for a new apartment, but I'd rather live on the northside than south now.

Positives:
-The layout of the two bedroom is great and the computer alcove is an added bonus. 3rd floor has vaulted ceilings, but its a pain to move in & out of the 3rd floor!
-Maintenance staff was great. Really, nice guys.
-Good location, close to 77, Renaissance Park, BGParkway and Southpark
-Its now close to the Tyvola Light Rail stop!

Complaints:
-Staff was never helpful, they seemed to always have new people whenever you went in. The turnover (except for the head lady - and she was not very nice) was constant, so there was no consistency. They did have some good people when we first moved in, but they never lasted.
-Gates were always broken
-People would leave trash in the hallways and when you complained, they never seemed to address the issue
-People cleaning up after their dogs (bonus: they do have pet stations in a few places) - there were some responsible dog owners, but it seemed like the people who lived on the ground floors who let their dogs out without leashes treated it like their personal backyards.
-Our carpet upon moving in had stains on it throughout which we documented. They should have replaced the carpet, but since we had noted them upon our walk through, we were not charged upon leaving.
-People allowing their ashes to drop to the balcony below
-We heard through others that there was some crime issues, i.e. broken into cars, but nothing official from the management (I know, there is crime everywhere...)
