We lived at strawberry hill for 3 years. We've lived in 6 different cities (all apartments) in the last 8 years and this complex was probably our 2nd favorite. Yes it is more expensive than you will pay at many other locations in the city but as many have noted there are huge benefits to the property including great central location to everything, the shops and restaurants in the complex come in very handy for the OMG we're out of milk trips and for the most part it is a very quiet community, although our last year there some young kids moved in the row across from us and would have parties and screaming matches in the parking area well into the night, to the point where my husband had to call the police. The rooms are very spacious in the townhomes and, as stated by previous reviewers, the walls are plenty thick to block any noise between units. And for the most part the neighbors are great and always offer a smile and hello.
As for the bad... the carpeting is very cheap apartment carpet and impossible to keep new, expect a bill when you move out & we shampooed the carpets every 6 months we were there. The maintenance staff were very slow in resolving complaints and WILL walk into your apartment without notice in the middle of the day. One walked in on me alone coming out of the shower. Not a pleasant experience. And the office staff is not very helpful with problems or questions, like why is there a worker in my bedroom unanounced'!'! Last complaint is that the apartments are very poorly sealed and insulated. Even with the windows closed there's always a breeze blowing around downstairs and a huge utility bill going out the cracks. As for the bug problems others referred to, yes there are bugs and mice and other pests but it is the South and the community backs up to a large field and overgrown area.
Overall I would recommend this property just make sure you clean like crazy when its time to leave. There cleaning fee for the apartment was outrageous when we left and we thought we had left it in pretty good condition considering we had been there 3 years and had paid over $33,000 in rent.

Thank you for your thoughts. If it's any consolation to you, be glad you didn't live at Bexley Creekside in the University area. Your problems would have been a lot worse...armed robberies, repeated break-ins, both auto and apt. Good luck to you wherever you're headed, and thank you for taking the time to post your comments. I'll be moving in Strawberry Hill this summer, and I'll remember to keep it very, very clean! Thanks for the heads up.
