Nice Place, Horrible Experience

Summit Fairview has very nice apartments and the layout of the apartments cannot be beat. However, they are not the newest apartments in Charlotte, so you can expect to have maintenance problems. This would be no problem if that meant calling and explaing the problem and then it getting fixed. However, having a problem fixed the first time is not even in the vocabulary of the staff or management. My ceiling has leaked with heavy rains for over 8 months now, it has never been properly fixed and each time I am told that "roofers have come by and looked at it and fixed the problem." Well eight months later, my roof still leaks, I have never seen these imaginary roofers, and the management acts as though they are doing me a favor by lying to me each and every time. I have had other maintenance problems. One for example is that my dishwasher was leaking under my sink. I requested that it be fixed and the staff came by and left me a note saying to fix my dishwasher I should turn the switch on to run it. They did not address the fact that there were 2 five gallon buckets full of water under the sink. When I brought this to management's attention, they acted as though it could happen to anyone...I guess they are right anyone could think that 10 gallons of water under a sink was normal.
But maintenance problems only occur about once a month, parking on the other hand happens on a daily basis. I have to park at the street next to dumpsters many nights, and I live in a building that is nowhere near the street. Why does this happen' Because on our cul-de-sac there are only 32 parking spaces for the 24 "roommate floor design" apartments. That is right, not even close to the amount of spaces for the apartments that are being served. How does management make this better' They do not enforce their parking policiy of making sure that all cars licensed for to be driven and motorcycles are parked in parking spaces. That means 3 out of the 32 spaces are taken up by vehicles that are NEVER driven. Are these spaces near the back, away from the apartments' No, they are right next the building, so if a car gets broken into it will be your car that is driven everyday and parked at the street, not the car cozied up to the building that has not been driven in a year. What is management's response' "We are taking care of this." I guess the roofers deal with this problem, too.
The apartments are nice, but the aggrevation is not worth it. The location is awesome, but you have to walk a mile to your car. The design is outstanding, but do not expect it to be taken care of, keep on driving when you see Summit Fairview. Camden has taken over, and this property has gone to the shitter.
