Moving here is the worst decision you can make!!!!!!!!

I was going to move here early next year. I put down half of the ridiculous $300 deposit along w/ application fee. For starters the application process was outdated and took way too much work on my end. They should have given me the application fee as I did all the work. The old-fashioned office staff refused to attempt to verify my employment online (which just about every large corporation does now). They wanted me to figure out another way for them to verify my employment. Their practices are out of date and inconvenient. I began hearing horror stories from people who had lived there, so I began looking into it. I could not find one possitive review on-line. My friend who currenlty lives there is having serious health problems due to the strong air deoderizer they put in his AC unit. The mgmt denies any mold problems, but I found numerous complaints from online reviews of mold problems. They are doing nothing to help him with his problem and are ignoring his simple requests to either deal with the smell, move him into another apt, or as a last result, let him out of his lease. I also found numerous complaints of their maintenance staff from theft to former child predators working for them. I spoke to one former resident who stated that they ignore criminal background checks for new residents. One resident complained of a dead animal in the pool. When she confronted mgmt about it, they first ignored her, then when the finally went to clean it up, they just chucked it in the trash can next to the pool to rot, while they talked trash about her! I was also informed that their property management company owns Waterford Square Apts, which is one of the worst communities in the area and has a well documented list of complaints from residents. When I went to confront the leasing agent and property manager with this list of complaints and bad press I found, I asked to cancel my plans to lease an apt. The property manager first yelled at the leasing agent and made a big seen about having to talk to me. She then came out and did not smile or shake my hand. She asked, "Did you need to see me for something'" I presented my reasons for not wanting to live there. She shrugged them all off and stated that she does not care what customers have to say about their place online and there is nothing to support these claims. She said she will only acknowlege complaints that escalate to the BBB. I told her their behavior in the office that day fully supported all I had read and heard about them. They refused to refund my deposit even though I had no intention of living there (maybe they should look up the definition of a deposit). The leasing agent told me on the phone on an earlier date that the deposit is refundable if I later chose not to live there or move in. They showed me the contract, which was mis-leading and ambiguous. If you are considering living here, please re-think. There are plenty of other nice communities in the area. I expected better from a complex located in Piper Glen!

You must have nothing else to do but sit online and wait for someone to write nasty stuff about people. Some of us are having a fairly good experience living here and would recommend this place to anyone. You should try to have a positive attitude and thing would be better for you.

to the ignorant person who wrote the last response....re-read the review and the other negative reviews. these are common experiences had by many. there are many concrete examples of bad customer service, as well of other reasons not to live at this complex. i am glad you are having a good experience at the complex, but you are in the minority. this isn't just "nasty stuff" written by people. these are the reviews of people who have all shared bad experiences and are trying to warn others before they are contractually obliged to live in misery. Did the office staff encourage you to write this response? I've heard they have been doing that.

I can tell you that everything this poster says is absolutely true. I had almost an identical experience. Lost my deposit and everything. DO NOT MOVE THERE. YOU WILL DEEPLY REGRET IT. The staff is the rudest and most condescending you will ever meet. From the first moment you go there you will feel as though you are being judged. ------- (one of the office trolls) is a scheister thru and thru. Tell her I said so.
