My wife and I looked at relatively few places to live in charlotte. We choose the lodge because it looked like we could live on holiday. This place seemed like a resort. Before we moved in I read some reviews on this site. Needless to say, they worried us. Was it all a faade' Were only seeing the best parts' Well aside form the fact that we didn?t have any other choices we signed only a 7 month lease and said if it?s that bad we?ll suck it up and move. Well, I?m here to say this place is great. In fact, I?ve taken a part time job delivering pizzas to learn the area. Since we are from NH, I figured it was the best way to learn this area fast. Well, let me say, my part time job has taken me to most every apartment complex in the northern charlotte and university area and I have NO regrets moving into the lodge. The staff is great, the maintenance guys are warm, friendly and attentive. As for crime...haven?t seen or heard anything yet exept to learn the crime has risen in the entire area due to a new gang in town. Now let me also add this, I spoke to a co worker who lives in a gated community(something people recommended if you were afraid of crime), in another complex area. Her car got broke into twice in the last 6 months I think. I have heard rescue sirens from time to time... but they never come to the lodge. Although, that?s not to say this place is noisy. It?s not. Could that be because I live on the back side of the complex' well thanks to the leash free dog park (an amazing bonus not offered elsewhere), I walk around alot at all different times.. This place is friendly, quiet and pleasantly diverse. I could go on an on for another 1000 words or so but I think you get the picture. I love it here.
