The only positive thing about the apartment complex is it looks great to the outsider (that has never lived here), but as soon as you sign the lease the wool is removed from your eyes. I have many concerns that it seems the apartment complex has turned it's back on.
1. Anytime a robbery occurs on the property, the only way you find out is if you see the CMPD car at the office the next morning or you pass by someones car either sitting on cinder blocks or with the windows smashed out.
2. I have had my next door neighbors window kicked in while they weren't home and the door left open for anyone to go in and take their belongings....do you think the apartment complex sent a note out about that' NOPE
3. Although they advertise high ceilings, you can still hear any and everything....especially loud walking.
4. PARKING....hahaha....its a JOKE you have people parking in front of the buildings that don't even live there, and walking to their building to avoid having to park on the side of the building and get their car broken into. People also have company and friends over on the weekends so if you have not found youself a parking spot before 10pm on a Fri, Sat, or Sun night, you will be out of luck on Ryan Jay Drive around building 3104.
5. You can't rent out the club house anymore for gatherings, so people try to squeeze a bunch of people in their apartments and make lots of noise.
6. There is no security. When there was a string of breakin's at the apartment, the office hired a security company staff member. I felt really safe seeing him sitting in his car in the front of the complex.(Not showing much vigilance)
7. Maintance is ok (they get it right sometimes) My air conditioner ran out of antifreeze last summer and it took them 2 times to come out...just to figure out what happened.
8. Finally the "Dog Park" well if you want to have to make a trip to pet's mart to get your dog washed, the I wouldn't recomend it...the park has a cresent shape so when it rains all the water sits in the middle. Ther is a dog park in the back of the apartment complex also, but it has high grass in the middle, plus standing water/mud most of the time. I wouldn't be surprised if there were snakes back there.
9.

Most of what you say isn't true, and these crimes you're talking about must not have been reported to the police, because they have no record of them. So, if it DID happen, how do you expect it to improve if you don't file a police report? All of these rants you've put down seem to make me think you're out to get the complex, rather than provide an objective review.

I completely disagree with this and would like to post a response so that hopefully good renters will not take your post as the gospel and not consider living here. Yes there was someone who was breaking into stuff at one point. This is an apt complex and these things will happen. In any case, the courtesy officer lives in my building and he caught the people who were doing it. I know because I woke up and watched it from my patio. I'm a night-owl and am usually up late - and I see him taking a walk to check things out pretty regularly. If I was concerned about security I wouldnt sleep on my couch with my sliding door open (I live on the first floor). I'm not aware of ANY apt where you cannot hear your upstairs neighbors - just because you have a 9ft ceiling. If you don't want to hear people walking then you should move to the 3rd floor or buy a house. I hear people walking in the unit above mine but it's no more than I would expect to hear. I also had to park in a parking spot that was not directly in front of my building a few times, but I think overall there is ample parking. And I know for a fact that you can rent out the clubhouse. The theater room, gym, and pool table areas are nice and well maintained. The staff have been great. There was recent mixup in my renting the theater out, and they have bent over backwards to make things right with me. I've been here for a year and a half and I would not have re-signed my lease if I was unhappy. |
