Maintenance disappointing...

I've lived at the Oaks for under 6mths. My opinion might not mean much to you, but I'm very honest and open-minded, so here's the real skinny on the complex.
The grounds are beautiful in the fall
Logistically, it's perfect for heading North and/or South. You're on I-85 or I-77 in under 10 min. It's close to Northlake Mall and Concord Mills.
It's a relatively quiet community. The grounds are neat. Everything is tasteful. Not over the top and not too simple. My one complaint is that the carpet is nasty, I'm constantly vacuuming-every single day, it has new gunk (I'm a neat freak, take my shoes off at the door, and don't have much company, no pets). They said they cleaned it, but I'm guessing they got someone from Maintenance to do it. Here's why I think this...
The maintenance crew - now that's a different story - if you phone something in on a Tues. do NOT expect it to be handled until Friday (at the earliest). Doesn't matter if it's a clogged toilet, air filter smoking, door won't lock, whatever, just expect a 3-4 day turnaround. Keep your fingers crossed that the dude they send will even know what to do.
Parking - they have some 'flex' scale for the garages. Today it can be $60 per month, tomorrow it may be $75 bucks for the same garage.
The cabinetry, floorings, ceiling fans are all old. But this complex was built in 1996! This is a planned temporary stop for me, so I'm not stressing too much. I do NOT suggest this place as a longterm living arrangement. Two years tops!
The staff - hmmm, it depends on who you end up with. Some of them have some personality issues, but one or two are okay to deal with. My thing is, how happy can they really be working at an apt complex where most client contact is collecting rent or registering complaints! Give em a break. I don't always like my job either.
Walls and floors are thin. I can always hear my neighbors 3-minute, once every two-weeks lovemaking sessions. It's hilarious. When they walk, it sounds like they're coming thru my ceiling - and they're relatively average in size (translated - not chunky).
There have been a few car break-ins and most recently, some apt breakin's. Lock your car doors. Don't leave valuables exposed. And use the freaking alarm system installed in each apt.!
The GATE - a freakin' joke. Never ever ever functions properly. NEVER.
