Never gives back Security Deposit

The rent you pay is high, but you do not get back
even 10%. The whole building falling apart. Power
bill is high because there is hardly any insulation. Lousy
service. They took 2 weeks to fix smoke detector.
Never fixed the laundry vent, said something wrong
with my drier! The management staff changes every
other week. They have hidden rules in their 50 page
rental agreement. A/C unit fails every other
week in summer. They take 2 days to fix.
The place is so unsafe, got atleast one notice from
management every 2-3s week about some vandalism or
break-in.
Most of all, they will never refund your security
deposit. Manager got mad because I was moving out.
For 2 inch by 2 inch spot in one room, charged $800
towards brand new carpet and kept the deposit.
The carpet was atleast 10 years old. I could have gone
to small claims court, but got most of the money from
the renters' insurance. With my travelling job, I could
not handle all these. Did not refund my neighbour's
deposit with reason that the apartment smelled bad and
needed painting. Charged another neighbour for drip pans
and some minor stuff and kept the whole deposit.
