I have lived here for about 4 years and I am leaving to another complex. When I moved in the place was pretty new. Everything was nice; including the grounds, maintenance, safety, staff. Well that has all changed. VAB has turned into ghetto central, with the crappiest maintenance staff in the history of maintenance staffs. They no longer do monthly checks on air conditioners, or anything else. We went 6 months without an air filter change at one point.

We have had the ceiling repaired twice and it is leaking again. We have had the entire linoleum floor replaced, parts of the carpet replaced due to faulty air conditioning (hmmm isn't this what those monthly checks are for') We complained about the carpet on move-in and it was...lets see...over a year before they came to look at anything. Don't ever expect anything to be completed in a timely manner while you are here. I could go on forever, but lets just say these apartments are built like crap.

The parking is horrible, if you get home late expect to park in SC somewhere. Like I said the place is ghetto now. I walk outside to see cigarette butts everywhere, not to mention on the WOOD deck outside someones apartment. There must have been 100 or so. Half of the time the people from the apartments are wondering around outside the door in their underwear and talking on the cell phone. Apparently maintenance is supposed to clean this up everyday, but they don't. They seriously seem to let anyone in here, because half of these people look like serial killers.

The staff has always been really nice to me, but nothing ever gets fixed around here. There are times where they go out of their way to help, and other times where you just get the promise of help. But I honestly can't tell whether or not it's them or the maintenance that is the problem.

In terms of safety I have become increasingly worried about it around this area. There are several sex offenders living in the neighborhood right beside of us by the way. Although most of the time I am afraid of the sketchy people living in my own complex. I look outside and see very young kids running around without parents, half of the time throwing things at or around cars.

I have another friend in the complex who has called the cops no less than 5 times on his neighbors, and it doesn't look good when I walk around and see eviction notices on windows. Yeah this place may be the cheapest around, but you get what you pay for. It was good while it lasted, but I am out of here.
