Nice buildings, but thin walls, and lease terms STINK

This is relatively convenient, and a nice complex to look at. The apartments were nice, and new--the floorplans are large, as well. Yes, it's not in the greatest area of town, but I think there are some racial motivations in many of the comments. The area is quite racially and ethnically diverse, but the Porsche and Hummer dealerships 3/4 of a mile down the road would not be in a totally crappy area.
My complaints are these, however... The ceilings are really thin. My husband and I own a large dog, and the ancient people below us would complain about her running around... We got tired of disciplining her for being a dog (a puppy at that)--and they went to bed at like nine o'clock at night. Also, living next to the stairways, you could hear when anyone went up and down the stairs. Yet another thing the ancient old people complained about (apparently us taking our dog to the bathroom was too loud) More students began to move in as our time there ended, and there were several parties that lasted loudly into the night. The LAST AND WORST part of the apartment was the terms of the lease. My husband and I were forced to break our lease due to unemployment and were charged the equivalent of three months rent. We will be paying for our sojourn in Charlotte for the next year and a half. My advice is to read the lease VERY VERY carefully.
