I just discovered this site and I had to go to my car to get my FILE, thats right, file on Waterford Creek apartments. I was a resident collectively for well over 2 years. The problems come up when you want to break your lease for any reason including moving out of the city, the state, or for major crime reasons (actual shoot out at the pool that they didnt notify tenants about), or any other legitimate reasons. They charged me not only 2 months rent but over $1,000 in "break lease fees"! The fees included such items as an advertisement fee, clean up fee, estimated lost rent, and concession pay back. None of these fees were listed on my lease and they infomed me that according to state law that they could not give me a set lease fee and the fes had to be calculated...blah, blah, blah. I talked with the manager, ther regional manager, and the headquarters in Maryland....ALL OF THE MANAGEMENT IS UNPROFFESIONAL AND UNREASONABLE! I would not rent from the company ever again. They own several apartments in Charlotte and along the east coast www.thesheltergroup.com .
