I just recently moved from Waterford Lakes and it was the best move of my life. The parking lots, stairwells, pool area, malbox areas, just about everywhere in the complex are a war zones. -------- gangs run the complex. I refused to leave my apartment before daylight and I never went out after dark. My doors and windows were barracaded shut at night. I pushed dressers, etc up against them, then I prayed all night that a fire wouldn't happen. Pitbulls were runnning freely around my building without leashes. This was reported several times by many renters but nothing happened. Their security patrol, Metro Police,was a joke. They never did their jobs properly. The office staff, with the exceptions of --- and -----, were real crooks and miserable bastards. Someone should be investigating the improper business dealings and handling of renters funds that go on with ------, the business manager. She lies about rent being late and then she charges fees for lateness etc., with me she insisted on being paid cash. She said my rent was not placed in the rent box by the last due date, she said it was taken out of the box two days after the due date. She also insisted that the after hours payment box is checked daily. Funny thing is, I paid my rent four days before it was due because I was scheduled to be out of town on the day rent is due (which I was). The day she claims to have found the check in the box I was laying on a beach in Florida. Also just to let you know I DO NOT have any family or friends in Charlotte who could have placed the rent check in the box! When I challenged her with facts and stated I could prove my whereabouts during that time period, it's amazing how quickly she backed down! However, when I went to rent a new home she lied to my landlord about me not paying my rent on time and she also lied about how much my rent had been monthly. Luckily I had proff to back me up. My new landlord also complained that ------ was extremely uncooperative when she requested information about myself and other people in the past! She also cheated me out of a good portion of my security deposit after I moved from the apratment!
My advice to anyone even thinking about living at Waterford Lakes...run like hell as far away as you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have lived at the property for a year and a half. I think these two must live at a different community. I have never seen these type of problems. I also pay my rent on time. You two need to get a hobby.

not2beforgotten, your post has no merit. The point being made was that the increase in problems with residents is synonymous with the increase in ethnicity moving in there. And complaining about that is hardly being "picky". Remember that stereotypes exist for a reason. And from what I've seen the past several years, the shoe fits pretty well.
coolman, the irony of your post is quite humorous. We're slow because the high majority of us aren't making litters of babies just to get free health care & residency? Or that we don't spend quite as much time with a leaf blower? Well gee, I just didn't have those opportunities. I was too busy getting a college education & aspiring to be part of the backbone of this society.
