I was a resident at this apartment complex for much longer than anyone should have to. During my time there, I had frequent (3-5 times per week) noise pollution issues from my neighbors at all hours of the night. The paper thin walls transmit a ton of sound and it was sometimes impossible to get a good night's sleep.
The main office/"fitness center" and pool area burned to the ground last year. It still has not been repaired or replaced. In the meantime, the staff did nothing to accommodate its current residents.
Generally, the staff and management are not available at all. They NEVER return phone calls and are not helpful with solving problems even if you do happen to get them to call you back.
Thankfully I no longer live here. You shouldn't either.

We used to live there a couple years ago, actually we moved out 5 months prior to the place burning down. It is the worst apartment complex of all time. If I were a current resident I would be asking at least a minimum of 300 dollars of the rental price. What are they doing with all that extra money that goes towards the facilities anyway. One thing is for sure they are not spending it on patrons that is for sure. Move out everyone that place is a craphole.

Wow, they STILL have not done anything about that clubhouse? All I saw them do is periodically go to Kinko's (or wherever they go for printing) and get new banners printed. It is interesting to note that they still use these "facilities" as a selling feature for prospective residents and show pictures of the clubhouse in it's former glory to lure people in. 2 words: FALSE ADVERTISING.
I even called the company who publishes these ads in the Apartment Finders and their rep said that there is nothing that they could do about it and they just publish what they are given. So I obviously learned a BIG LESSON to really investigate any complex I plan to move into. After all, your mortgage or rent is usually the biggest expenses you have so you should be happy with your dwelling. I am glad that I do not stay there anymore. I know many people use this site for complaining, however I will choose a complex that does not have so many complainers.

Hey moron - noise pollution happens at every apartment complex, and seriouosly for the price - WTF did you expect - concrete walls? Generally you should shut the hell up and expect to get what you pay for...

Obviously the answer from Anonymous must be from management. Having lived there for longer than I wanted, I agree with all of the above and more. When you see 1 positive answer, just know it's somebody from management. Nobody who has ever lived there has anything positive to say. I understand when the complex was first built and the original owmers were in charge, that it was THE place to live but when the current management took over they ran it into the ground. At the rate they are going they will be underground. The previously manager, Christine the -----'s husanband is a Charlotte cop which could account for the reason she got away with things that would never happen in other complexes.
When looking for a new apt., I tried to interview the tenants who will usually tell the truth. Of course, there will never be a complex that will be 100% positive usually due to the rent increases, parking and things like that. Nowhere did anyone ever have complaints like we did at Waterford Square about management. When I first moved to NC, I looked for apts 2 mos. prior and there was nothing available at the time I wanted to move not even at WS -- 30 days later they called and they said they had apts available. What happened to the 30 days notices even back in 2005. They were the only complex that had several apts available and now I know why. Where I moved to has an 82% rating and when you read the tenants reviews you think that it comes from management but it is really true, the residents are really happy here. The apts are much newer and smaller and more expensive but management bends over backwards for the residents. I guess there is a price to live peacefully but it will put 10 years back on your life. An example of mgmt response -- I found a small snake in my bedroom (1st floor living had a downside) and called mgmt -- maintenance was here in 30 seconds by which time the snake had gone under my bed so they had to move furniture. They are also extremely accommodating and everything is done with a smile. The maintenance staff has been the management company for years as they also own other properties in Charlotte. Unlike WS, they treat the staff with dignity so in turn they treat the residentse the same.
WS treated their employees worse than the residents because they were the boss. Most of them left because they were never paid the commissions that were promised to them, some as much as $600.
The only thing anybody can do is pray that what goes around comes around and that we live to see it in our lifetime.

Hey Anonymous (referring to the 5/12/08 posting)
If you think that you can treat people like trash because of financial limitations, then you’re a sad soul. I hope that you’ll never need to depend on the mercy of others!!! Just remember your lil’ nasty comment the next time you’re in a jam!! I suggest that you (and your staff) start working on that pile of work orders that you’ve been ignoring, then maybe you won’t have to spend so much time defending yourselves with infantile profanity and name calling!!
IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE, DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS!!! The management has a sick mentality; they do not understand the important nature of maintaining appropriate living quarters for the residents. Last year, a main water line broke Sunday morning, they did not bother to have it fixed until Monday afternoon. Countless calls were made; they did nothing except leave the residents/families WITHOUT WATER for OVER 24 HOURS. They refused to provide accommodations, compensate for the inconvenience, or even NOTIFY ANYONE of the issue - they provided gallons of water after the lines were repaired. SO, I GUESS I GOT WHAT I PAID FOR…HUH ANONYMOUS.
