Your an idiot!!!! Listen people...If you wanna hear about ghetto then ride through their "community".I have lived in the Wexford apartments for over 3 years and it's pretty much average. The crime is rare or isolated to domestics and the maintenance is good. My rent is decent and I feel safe letting my daughter walk home from the bus stop. However I would not ever let my daughter walk through the Wexford Community behind these apartments. To the evictee who wrote the crap below: You guys don't even have a working pool so your skanky ass folks who rent section 8 in your "family" oriented community try to trespass and use our apartments pool. You must be some asswipe that got charged with trespassing or lived here and got evicted and with your credit can only get a house in that ghetto. No vagrants walk through here, no rude youth and the theives are the government funding bloodsuckers who live in your community.Trust me, I know cause I had my car broken into while eating Pizza across the street and the guy that got caught lived in your ghetto. There was also a sex offender plucked out of your "family oriented community on the news who traded kiddie porn. To my knowledge, everyone here pays rent and I asked and the management company doesn't own and never has rented out any gov't apartments. You need to mow your grass and keep your lil ghetto ass kids home and out of my neighborhood. I don't know how it goes now cuz we have a new manger but the other girl rode through constantly and kept your riff raff out and had to put up with their nasty lil mouths and I have seen the lil chinease guy run em out and guess where they go home to' They go to houses in your community where mommy and daddy aren't there cus there either out buying crack at your community meeting or smoking it in your overgrown, rat infested pool while watching more of your neighbors hoodlums prepare for a future of welfare as they knock up their 14 y/o girl friends. You must rent your house and our pissed cuz this place brings in the good ones and you only get losers to rent out your hell hole. I agree...stop crime cold by getting a community watch in your delapidated community and don't let your unattended ghetto brats wander past flint glenn into our community.

Lets see....First off yeah i watch the news. There are murders and rapes and drugs and gangs but there all over charlotte, not wexford. Second off, ride through your community and take a loooonnnnngggggg hard look. Trust me, you'll see all the thugs in the yards, chillin on their stolen bikes and illegals living 20 per house hence the 10 cars all over the yard. Like I said before, this place runs backgrounds AND credit unlike the churches and gov.t agencies that rent houses in your GHETTO so I know my neighbors are fine...do you? Oh and the sex offender thing....theres one guy who listed as living here but didn't live here and hasn't given his new address so it can't be removed until he does. He probabaly really moved into your community and maybe was the dude who stole my car or was picked up for having and trading porn of kids (maybe yours) with other pedophiles. Get real DUMBASS. Sorry your jealous that some people can rent and own instead of buying a the only house you can get with crappy credit, one in the wexford community ghetto. I own a home out of state too, but rent here because my jobs in Charlotte. I like these apartments and will reiterate the fact that your community causes the problems not ours. Have a community meeting for your fellow homeowners and see how many of those people just show up for the free food and then run out to break into your car....(ha ha ha ha ha).

First off, I am a homeowner! I live here in N.C. for a 2 year contract with my spouses employer. We found these apartments through other employees of his department who had nothing but good reviews. We found the apartments to be of middle class construction, residents and the price was great. When we moved in they ran our credit and CRIMINAL BACKGROUND which they said is done to anyone residing in the apartment as an adult on the lease. Sure the banks run credit for a house but do they run CRIMINAL BACKGROUNDS? I chose not to respond to your petty attempts to ruin their reputation because they are just that, PETTY. I spoke to Char Meck as well and they reiterated to me that "the Wexford Community has had it's share of problems past and present and at times they overflow in to the surrounding apartment communities like Wexford and Harris Houston! Also,I know what the new construction plan for the land by the 485 on ramp is Mr./Mrs. Misinformed. It will be an A class community owned by the same company that built Pavillion Crossings...which is a far cry from section 8. You see, my sister works in real estate and has a pretty keen eye for property value to which she stated that your houses values will continue to drop because of the many, many, many, foreclosures and type of people who reside there in SECTION 8 rentals!!! Due to the multiple foreclosures, people residing in your community who hit hard times will be unable to refinance causing a domino effect. The banks will have to sell to the highest bidder (slum lords) which will continue to cause a decline in your community. It's funny you don't see many joggers in your community because they come here or run down University. Wake up and smell the ghetto...your community stinks just as bad as your pool and the only thing that can be done about it is for you to admit it and quit throwing the blame into my community!!!

Wow! This is sad. We just bought a home in the Wexford Community. It doesn't sound like a place I'd like to raise my children.

Charlottean, The Villages of Wexford is a reasonably nice community. More neighbors just need to get involved and be visible. Too often it seems people want to complain about something without actually doing anything about it. This doesn't lead to a solution, it simply adds to the problem. The biggest problem in the community is the problem with the pool property that belongs to CHM Holdings. The second biggest problem starts in some of the homes of the children in the community. I think you'll find that pretty much anywhere though, especially because parents seem to want to be their kids' friend instead of their parent. An example of the problem is that some youths try to intimidate residents by walking down the middle of the street and refusing to move; others rudely cut through other people's property. Occasionally you'll get some sass from them. There are a few (3, I believe) section 8 rentals in the community. Section 8 does not necessarily mean that the residents are problems. One can qualify for section 8 for a variety of reasons - for example, a single mother raising children diagnosed with cancer and cannot work will likely qualify for secion 8 housing subsidation - does this mean she and her children are problems? Certainly not. It means they've fallen on hard times as can happen to any one of us. There are rules for qualification and residents who become problems CAN lose their section 8 status (and most know this). In regard to the foreclosures - there have been several in the neighborhood. Does that mean that these people were bad people? Certainly not. It simply means that for whatever reason, they found themselves in over their head. It's easy to do, especially if you live beyond your means like so many people choose to. In the past few years, mortgages, second mortgages, car loans and credit cards have been relatively easy for most to get. Lenders are allowing people to overextend themselves more and more. Folks overspend without insuring that they have savings available for emergency situations - most don't have savings because they're spending everything they're bringing in. What happens to these folks when they lose their jobs? They're often times left with no choice but foreclosure. It doesn't mean they were or are bad people, it simply means that they may have made some bad decisions.

Lastly, the Wexford Apartments are a David Drye complex. David and his wife Ann, both believed in creating affordable housing options in communities. Their apartments are lower end apartments and are designed as lower income housing, or starter apartments. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not a 5-star complex.

David and Anne may have actually run this complex with some decorum and sense. Unfortunately they passed away in 1999. Wexford has gone down hill. None of my issues have been dealt with. The quality of living here is abominable. The crime rate has sky rocketed. It is unsafe to live here. Management has given N Style towing downtown full right to tow whom ever they choose, whenever they choose, and why ever they choose. This was completely irresponsible on the part of Wexford management. Adequate parking has not been supplied. Parking spaces in front of the play ground are unevenly spaced and difficult to park in. Cars have been broken into frequently in this community. Beware, beware, beware of David Drye Realty!
