I have resided in this complex for 2 years. When we first moved in we did not have a working refrigerator. Management was promptly notified but the issue was not resolved for 3 full days. For 8 months we have complained (even to the corporate office) that our bathroom sink is clogged, the other bathroom sink drips, the bathroom faucet drips, the piping to the sink in the kitchen leaks, and that the gutters in our building are clogged which leads to flooded stairwells during periods of heavy rain. None of these issues have been addressed. The parking spaces in front of our building near the playground are crooked and unevenly spaced. It is nearly impossible to park straight in those spaces and it usually requires several minutes of backing up and straightening and backing up again to get in the space correctly. They have your car towed at the discretion of a towing company they have hired to patrol the parking lot. The towing company likes to tow people on Saturday because they aren't open on Sunday, which means the owner of the towed vehicle has to pay for two days of impoundment intsead of just one. It also means you can't have your vehicle for a full day. Parking is completely inadequate. The walkways on the second floor are 2 X 4s with nails jutting out unsafely. The only competent staff available are the maintenance men. We have had at least 6 managers in the past 2 years. None of the managers follow or enforce the same policies. A manager lost our rental check and tried to have us evicted, we paid on time and after we proved this we still had to pay $163 in court cost to avoid having an eviction on our record. The manager who lost our check has since been replaced. I believe she works at another David Drye site. David Drye's corporate office refuses to address issues in management. Cars are frequently broken into and even stolen in this area. Some residents do drugs. Many residents party on the weekends and are unduly loud. Someone was murdered here last year. Previously a rape occurred in the area. The crime rate is steadily rising, contact the charlotte mecklenburg police department for varification if you do not believe me. The decreased price of living here is not worth the undue stress you will experience while residing here. We should not have renewed our lease and we are seeking legal counsel to get out of it early. We would rather pay hundreds of dollars in legal fees to be able to move early than continue to reside in such a stressful location.
