An Indifferent Place

Willow Ridge was a decent place for 3 single guys looking for a cheap place to live. Me and my two room mates lived there all last year and we found it to be pretty decent. I think a lot of what determines how your situation is going to be is the apartment that you get. We got a Third Floor (although we only had to go up one flight of stairs cuz it was the third floor on the hill side) two bedroom two bath and it was alright for the three of us. A little cramped and no privacy, but it was cheap. We also lived right above one of the model units, so we never had to worry about being loud, or someone being loud above or below us.
The apartment itself was decent, however the kitchen and bathrooms were pretty bad. As soon as I walked into the kitchen I knew something was wrong when there was fresh paint all over the range. Stoves should not have paint on them and the first time we used each burner, the smell of paint was almost overwhelming. The cabinets were also looking like they were going to self-destruct at any moment, both in the kitchen and bathrooms. Also, We had to have our garbage disposal "fixed" 5 times before we moved out. They never replaced it and because i've done maintanence before, i knew the motor was burning out because of the stench and smell coming from it. One of the several bonuses though are the washer and dryer in every apartment. It saved us a lot of hassle trying to go to a laundrymat.
As far as the community, there are a number of shady and unscrupulous individuals that reside at Willow Ridge. I can remember two seperate occasions in the year that we lived there that we heard gunshots out in the parking lot down the hill from us. There were also neighbors that decided to smoke illegal drugs on the steps up to our apartment, as well as blaring music late at night from people's vehicles. The pools were almost always nasty, and the fitness center is crap. Also, the place just has a run-down, dirty, gross feel to it. But then again, we were just three college-aged guys going to school looking for a cheap place to live. So it wasn't bad, but it definately is not some place I'd want to raise a family.
