I was robbed at this complex. I am a 20 yr old female who lives alone and no longer feels safe living at Willow Ridge. Management DID NOTHING! I told them I wanted to break my lease to move to a safer area, they refused to let me go with out paying them over a thousand dollars to move. Over $1200 was stolen from me, I had no way of coughing up that amount to just get away to a safer environment. So, now I am stuck here for a year.
And just so you know, I did not live on the first floor in the back. My unit is in the front facing the parking lot, ON THE SECOND FLOOR!!!!!!
and they did not use the door to get in they went through the kitchen window which is exposed to the parking lot.

Other cons about this place, The roads are crappy, 2/3 of the gym equipment are broken, there's no gate in the front, and it is super dark at night. But if you are looking for cheap rent and is considering or already have a gun for your protection, then this is the place for you.

What part of the complex do you live in? In the front near the rental office or in the back?

People are animals and I'm sorry to hear about this incident. But, as a student of the law, I do want to ask what you would really expect management to do in a situation like this? They can do only so much in preventive measures but, ex post, there's nothing that landlords can do to assuage your situation. As far as getting out of a lease early, a lease isn't a willy-nilly agreement. It's a binding contract with the force of law and its going to be the same at Willow Ridge or any other community in the United States. Under federal statute, they can't treat anyone differently regardless of circumstance.
