I am a single mother and this was my first experience living in an apt. complex. When I entered into my lease the place looked great, I felt that my children and I would be safe but boy was I wrong. I found out within like two days that I had made a terrible mistake. Not only was I paying more money than everyone in my building, I was living with low income individuals. Which don't get me wrong If you need federal housing allowances then that is fine but I am struggling to pay for an appt. while my neighbors don't work and get to live there for free. What is that all about''' I thought I was moving into a high class development since the rent I was paying was not cheap. I also found out pretty quick that they didn't make people keep there noise down either. My neigbors upstairs were up all hours of the night. There were more people living in the apartments then were on the lease. I personally had several problems and nobody in the office would help me. I love to swim but the pool was never clean. I once took a scrub brush to the pool when the office was closed and cleaned some of the grim off the sides. The trash compactor was always running over and they only have the one unit. There is always garbage laying all the way down the stairs on the weekends. My refrigerator never worked right. It froze everything!!! The unit looks nice from the outside but looks can be decieving. I had to break my lease and move but the sad part is even with all of that with some support from the management I might have stayed. It's a good location to live in but they didn't care to make it better. I didn't have a pet because the deposit was too high but others around me had like five animals in there house and the management never said anything to them for breaking the rules. It really got to where I was afraid to stay in my own home due to the neighbors around me. They did drugs, drank, and were just not nice people...management knew this and did nothing so I had to move. At one point they recommend that I go stay with a relative until I could move. I told them I was not paying rent and not live here plus I didn't want anyone to break into my apartment while I was gone. I made it through the bad experience of Hampton Corners, and now I am very happy in the complex that I am in now. It's quite and peaceful here. I would recommend to anybody going into an apartment to just visit it a lot before you sign the lease. Talk to neighbors and don't judge a book by it's cover. Good luck to you!!!

P.S. It's been 9 months since I left Hampton Corners. I NEVER did get my deposit back after I talked to managment twice. They said they would mail it to me, my apartment was left neat and they just flat out lied to me. Also I failed to mention that the kids can't ride their skateboards in this complex. For parents with skaters that would be a big problem.

I TOTALLY agree with this person whom I do not know. I have the exact same picture of the dumpster which i am going to sent to the Health dept when I finally get away from here. One dumpster that is constantly overflowing with all of the apartments located here. Not sanitary!! Kids ride skateboards all over this complex, even minor children ride the management's golf cart. It doesn't do any good to attempt to speak with management, they just turn a deaf ear to any problem or issue. The worse complex I have ever lived and the rent is too much for the service and what is offered. Playground?? That is a joke. I feel very unsafe living in this complex and just counting down the days!!!!! Noise is unbelievable. Inadequate parking. Dogs in apaprtments that I am sure Management is not aware of. Security is a joke!!!

Just checking back in and I see that there have been a few responses to my posting. Just to comment to Anonymous #1, most of the people in my building finally did get kicked out of the apartment. Your right I did have some personal problems brought on by living at HC, one being I was afraid to live in my own apartment. That did cause alot of stress on my relationships with not only my boyfriend at the time, but I also didn't want to have friends & family over to my house because of the noise and chaos. For Anonymous #2 I am sorry that you too have had to endure a bad experience as well. I still have a few friends that live in Hampton Corners and I know that they still have problems. In fact one family is so upset because they have been notified that there are drugs all in their building. I know they are switching management for like the sixth time in a few short years so maybe they will be able to clean the place up. Anyway, I'm just still very happy I no longer live there.
