this is the worst place i have ever lived!!! management does not care about the security, safety, enjoyment, etc. of its residents -- management's only concern is whether the rent is paid!!! i have been at locke mill for two years -- and the situation there has consistently gotten worse during that time frame. noisy neighbors, children riding bikes and skate boards inside the building, people openly smoking pot both inside and outside the building, trash everywhere, dog poop left on the stairs and hallways for days and even weeks at a time, beer cans and bottles, residents' cars getting broken into and vandalized on a regular basis -- these are common occurrences at the locke mill plaza apartments!!! i am currently looking for a decent place to live, and i would never recommend locke mill plaza to anyone!!! none of the nice, decent, courteous, respectful, law-abiding residents stay at locke mill for very long -- only the noisy, trashy people who have no respect for others, for the property, for themselves. oh, and let's not forget those super thin walls -- the ones with only a piece of sheet rock between the apartments. i can hear my neighbors on both sides snore, urinate, open drawers and cabinets, talk on the telephone, cough, sneeze, have sex, walk, take a bath, pass gas etc. -- yes, i am telling the truth! if you want a true assessment of the awful conditions at locke mill, just talk to local police officers. they are well aware of what a horrible place locke mill is!!! one more thing -- don't be impressed with the fact there are sprinkler systems at locke mill. those sprinkler heads have been painted over and do not work properly -- just ask the fire department. we have had a rash of fires lately at the locke mill plaza, so the fire officials are very familiar with the lousy conditions there!!! oh, and i must mention the parking lot -- it is big, but there are no security personnel at locke mill -- so the parking lot is a huge problem spot. cars get damaged and broken into on a weekly basis, and people openly stand out in the parking lot smoking pot, drinking, playing loud music, and sometimes even having sex!!! does this sound like the kind of place you would want to move your family into'''

I get on this site from time to time and just look at responses that are given from our ever so prestigious residents that don't have a clue about the apartment business and want to slam everyone and slander the first chance they get. Well, let me tell you! You are no walk in the park. Where the hell do you work?! Is it somewhere you work with the public? Is it somewhere you can be slammed on the internet? Let us know, because we want the same rights as our ever so nice residents. And also by the way no I do not work at Lockmill but I'm one of the many that put up with babysitting adults on a daily basis in Charlotte.

I happen to agree with smilesarah. I am not the manager at Locke Mill either however, I do work in the apartment industry and I also happen to know the manager that just left. If you people who get on this site and bash the staff only had an ounce of a clue. We are adult babysitters, have rules to follow from upper management, budget restraints to follow and many other things that is called protocol and rules which as adult babysitters they dont follow. As for Locke Mill from what I do know, the management is limited to all the residents there. There are some residents there that are homeowners, private renters and some that rent from some smaller owners so to bash management?? you have some nerve. Get a clue. There have not been a rash of fires. There has only been one in the last 3-4 years if even that period. It was a small contained kitchen fire that did not affect any other person. The sprinkler heads work just fine, they are inspected by the Fire Department regularly...duh!! You people who get on here need to really wake up get a job in this industry and then see how much you would bash other people.

Here's a thought...if you hate "babysitting adults" so much maybe you should find a new job. This site has been pretty helpful and pretty acurate about the apartments I have formerly (and presently) lived in. Explain to me why you are angry because someone is "bashing" a job that you clearly seem to hate anyway. Find a new one...

it doesn't sound like the person is bashing the people who work for Locke Mill. rather, it sounds like they are giving their OPINION of where they live. i think management and others need to get a thicker skin and recognize that this site is for people to post THEIR opinions about THEIR experiences.

I used to have sex with this girl who lived in locke mill and I gotta say the staff are pretty nice and it's a decent place in some respects, but I think the only major problem is the inside halls and parking lots are dangerous at night.. we all smoke weed and drink some but there are some people in there who smoke crack and do meth which is kinda a concern for me... but hey you get what you pay for... locke mill is architectually awesome looking building... it looks amazing on the outside, and it looks like and underground city if you are tripping mushrooms on the inside, very cool place, just a few problems.
